I thought I would try to do one of those photo-realistic texture maps and since the person I have the most pictures of is myself I decided to do a self portrait. The texture I ended up with actually used three photos of me. One for the skin, one for the eyebrows and one for the irises. No post work on this except to add the copyright notice. Credits: Hair - Allerleirauh, Earrings - Akisiel Any comments, suggestions? This does actually bear a fairly good resemblence to me except my hair is a bit darker and parted to the side.

And I forgot the copyright notice - sigh.

My eyes are hazel but in some lights they do look very green.

Then you are indeed very beautiful Daio! Jack

Sigh... and me already married... Do you have a photo you wouldn't mind posting? I'd like to see the two side by side. And don't worry - if there is any group of people who are not judgmental, it's us! case it point - http://www.loresinger.com/poser/hmmm.jpg is all me. Anyone got a nose morph that can do that?

BillBay ( ) posted Sun, 05 December 1999 at 10:19 AM

Actually the link above is to a .BMP, but the .jpg looks like this: hmmm.jpg Isn't that a standard P4 Male nose? :)

Here's one of the photos I used to make the texture. It's not in the same pose mas the picture above but it should give you an idea. photo.jpg In case the link doesn't work here is the URL http://www.waltz.net/photo.jpg

daio you are a most beautiful woman and you did a fantastic job on that model. Great work! smiles

WarriorDL ( ) posted Sun, 05 December 1999 at 12:53 PM

Oh my... Very pretty indeed! And that self portrait is pretty darn close! Very nice job!

Foxhollow ( ) posted Sun, 05 December 1999 at 2:17 PM

Now that we can see, you did a great job! Being one who has struggled considerably with this brand of Poser I can relate to the work this involves. You must have a very good "eye" to see the little tweeks and nudges required. Foxhollow

Here's the same texture and model in a pose a lot closer to the picture. I can't quite get the eye shape right with the standard morphs. I'll have to see if I can make a morph that works. self2.jpg In case the link doesn't work here is the URL http://www.waltz.net/self2.jpg

Great work! Very beautiful character and such a great model to work from too! ;)

Jack D. Kammerer ( ) posted Sun, 05 December 1999 at 6:36 PM

Oh my, you are, as I said beautiful. I SAID IT FIRST GUYS!!! LOL Seriously (actually was but on to business), I think you did an excellent job of using the morphs and have indeed captured the likeness. Though, if I may be so bold as to say, the poser character doesn't seem to come close to charm and spirit of the person she represents. Just my 2 pennies. Jack

Ikyoto ( ) posted Sun, 05 December 1999 at 6:37 PM

daio... my wife is actually speechless! uh oh... here she goes "She should be commended. Many women don't have a good enough self image to make them selves look honestly beautiful." again... sigh... and me already married. uhhh... for some reason my wife is packing my suitcase and and smiling at you and chuckling... something about someone else's problem now....

daio1 ( ) posted Sun, 05 December 1999 at 7:10 PM

Um... (blushes furiously)...thank you. I think I'll go back to doing mythogical critters now... :-)

daio1 ( ) posted Sun, 05 December 1999 at 7:12 PM

sigh mythOLogical critters And I'll learn how to spell too one of these days.

Ikyoto ( ) posted Sun, 05 December 1999 at 9:54 PM

hehehe... I knew I'd get someone to blush someday... In all seriousness - it's a great job. Making people look like they do in real life is damn tough. You did a great job without adding or taking away from your self.. and people are their own worst critics. You may want to either increase the camera apiture or narrow the face a little. Traveler also has some morphs for the lips - the Poser "you" has thinner lips and a wider mouth than you do. Some of his eye morphs are fantastic! I made several of the character face morphs i posted with them. BTW- Do you live anywhere near Seattle? You look just like the woman who married the best man at my wedding and HE still owes me $20! (And my wife says not to worry. She's been keeping the world safe from me for 15+ years and her sentance isn't up yet.)

daio1 ( ) posted Sun, 05 December 1999 at 10:02 PM

No, I live in New England and have only been to Seattle once many, many years ago. Will those morphs work on the P4 base nude woman? I've found lots of facial morphs - but they all seem to be for the P3 base nude woman. When I try to use them on the P4 woman they don't seem to work right.

Ikyoto ( ) posted Mon, 06 December 1999 at 7:53 AM

That's really odd. The faces for the P3 and P4 should be identical. The only reason they wouldn't work is if the one your using has a different number of vertices. Contact Traveler - he's always willing to help.
