A few of ya will probably know my name by now since i must post about 300 messages a day asking for help on this forum lol As a big thankyou to all those people who have helped me im offering something in return to those of you that will use it........provding someone can let me know if its legal or not. I have just bought a copy of LipSinc Mimic and if anyone needs the files to make there characters talk then heres what im prepared to do. Send me a wav file or a script and ill send you the mimic files to add to your poser library. For those who cant record a wav or just want something simple then if you send me the script ill type them into my TTS engine and produce one for you. Its near human quailty and you can have a choice of male, female etc aswell as pitch and so on. Its jus an idea anyway.......like i said if this is legal then let me know! Cheers everyone daz

Just a few thoughts :) Is it legal to ask someone to type a dialog into any wordprocessor? the .doc file was generated by the wordprocessor, and the .doc can be send it to anyone, I guess it is legal to do this, until you send the program, or the code to someone else, I don't have mimic, but if mimic exports its files as .obj or .hr2 or what ever format that can be read it by poser, I don't see how that activity could be illegal, Is like someone ask you to do a 3D model with any modeller and you send it for free to the person in any 3d format. I will suggest you to read carefully the license agreement that comes with the software, that way you can know if they have limitations about sharing files generated by mimic, common sense tells me that there will not be a limitation about this issue. I think there might be some confusion about what you mean to do. If you mean send the mimic program to the other person, well no, that's certainly not legal. If you mean code the sound track for them and send them the completed/converted track that can be played, then yes, that's legal. Like virus said, its no different than all the .obj, .3ds, etc. files that people make available. You bought the program to produce files. The files you make belong to you to do with as you please.

The copyright refers to the actual program, so scifiguy & Virus are correct in that it is not illegal to send someone a file that is produced by the program. However you send the file to will need to have a program that can read that type of file. You just can't send them a copy of the program--that's a BIG NO NO!!
