Sonoma 14.0 is now installed on my iMac and my Poser 13 is completely disrupted! What can I do ? !

Thanks for your help !

Your subject line says Poser 12. If it's Poser 13 you're having a problem with, you might get answers in the Poser 13 forum.

It's Poser 12 that I use on a 27-inch Retina 5k iMac. Since installing Apple's "Sonoma 14.0" update, several Poser 12 windows, such as the Hierarchy Editor, Settings Dials, and the main window header now display incomplete. It is no longer possible to use the program ! Has anyone encountered these issues? Can we hope for corrections?

Double checking here ... are you using Poser 12, or Poser 2012? (They often get confused in posts). In either case, development on those versions have stopped because Poser 13 is the current release.

But one thing that comes to mind is that perhaps when you upgraded to Sonoma, it changed the text scaling or something on your system. I'm a Windows user and sometimes similar things happen when a new version is installed.

If you are able to open the Preferences dialog in Poser, there is a UI Scale setting (I believe in the Interface tab). I would set that to at least 2 to see if that improves things.

You're not wrong... Poser 11 & 12 look pretty messed up in macOS 14.
Looks like I won't be able to jump back to those versions anymore on this machine. If you've got a Time Machine backup, it might be worth downgrading OS until you can upgrade to Poser 13.

Could you post a screen shot of poser 12 UI in macos 14?

My version of Poser is 12.0.757.

This is what happens when, for example, I click on 'Hierarchy Window'. Pieces of the window appear all over the screen!

The 'Parameters Dials' window no longer displays the 'X Y Z' dials. They are there but invisible.

All indications at the head of the 'preview window' are now also invisible.

If I resize the window, what should be at the bottom now appears at the top of the window!

I modified the value of 'General Preferences \ Interface \ UI Scale': At the next start, windows are displayed larger or smaller depending on the value entered but the display malfunctions still persist.

Is version 13 my only hope?

Thank again for your answers !

I just discovered that if I reduce the size of certain windows, the display returns to 'almost' normal. But functions like 'Render', 'Save the picture' remain invisible...

Got this very same problem. And I already contacted Poser's Support. Their official answer was "oopsie, we have no idea a new OS was comin'!" So apparently, Poser is no longer compatible with MAC OS until a patch is developed sometime in the future:

"Thank you for being a Poser customer. Sorry you were affected by upgrade to latest version of MacOS. The nature of these changes from Apple make it unfeasible for us to update older versions of Poser for compatibility"

I get the same disappointing window drawing issues in Poser 12 on macOS Sonoma. I have been using all the beta versions of Sonoma, and Poser 12 is now effectively unusable. This COULD be related to a change in the version of wx that Poser 12 comes with. I have not tried updating wx within Poser's Python Shell, since that previously broke some things in Poser's UI prior to my migration to Sonoma.

I have another Mac running Ventura, and it remains fully compatible with Poser 12.

Poser 13, having a more recent version of wx does not appear to exhibit the same problems.

From everything I have seen, there will NOT (unless there are VERY pressing reasons) be another release of Poser 12 to address this, sadly. All efforts seem to be on Poser 13, but that is a MAJOR task, given the truly enormous number of issues which remained unaddressed by SMS even prior to Bondware's acquisition, and we've had Poser 11.3 and Poser 12 releases followed by Poser 13, now, so there's no going back.

End of my problem: I installed Poser 13 and now everything is fine.

Thank you for reading and thank you for your advice!

I feel that this is a copout by Poser for Poser 12 users forcing us to upgrade to 13. I cannot afford to upgrade all the time and I am a long time user of Poser. If Poser will not be fixed for 12 users then this should be a free upgrade to 13 due to the amount of users that have invested in 12.
