Subject: How delete frames after dynamic clothing simulation

martial ( ) posted Sat, 11 November 2023 at 9:24 AM · edited Sun, 22 December 2024 at 8:50 PM

Allo

I am now in Poser 13 , Using dynamic clothing i pose a clothing prop  using simulationm from frame 1 to frame  30 .Now i just whant to keep frame 30 where the cloth is ok on the figure and the pose. How delete frame 1 to 29 and just keep  frame 30.

Before in Poser 7 or 11 i spawm object for the cloth and appliy this morph on frame 1 after posing the figure  and delete frames except frame 1.With Poser 13 the morph is ceated but i cannot apply it on frame 1 after posing the figure i don't know  why.

I did it so many time before in old version of Poser

thanks

It looks like there's a bug. You used to be able to use Spawn morph target

Thanks  RedPhantom

I have using Poser from its beginning  and bought all versions but i think Poser 13 is still buggy but the rendering seems ameliored

I think that if La femme 2 seems to have almost all its clothing as dynamic prop and if it so complicated  to conform it...may be i leave there Poser 13 and return to use DAZStudio and genesis 8 and 9  with all thheir dforce cloths

You can render frame 30 or wherever your simulation ends. It's not needed to bake it to a morph and move to frame 1. There are only certain situations I make a morph from the drape. And it was working in previous versions of 13. Not sure what happened, but hopefully they'll figure it out

@Martial this is answered in the support ticket you submitted. Thanks for sending in the sample scene. In case any body comes across this in the future the solution is subdivision.

The dynamic clothing was subdivided at the preview level. When Poser spawns a morph it only does it for the current level of subdivision. The dynamics only exist at the base level. There's literally no morph that exists on the subdivided mesh ... Yeah it's weird.

Fortunately the fix is really easy. Set the subdivision on the dynamic cloth to 0 before spawning the morph. Then you can set the subdivision back to whatever it was before.

Step:

  • Run the cloth sim as usual
  • Set Subdivision to 0
  • Spawn the new morph
  • Reset subdivision to previous setting.

Set Preview to 0 before spawning the morph.
