Subject: Label "Poser" or "DAZ" in ALL Promo Images

feecozen ( ) posted Wed, 07 February 2024 at 12:43 PM · edited Thu, 14 November 2024 at 11:36 PM

I'm exclusively a Poser user and get tired of seeing interesting promo images for products only to find on clicking through that the product is exclusively for DAZ Studio. Wastes a lot of my time, and is disappointing to boot. Can all vendors please label their promo images "Poser" or "DAZ," or both, up front. From what I've seen in Marketplace these days, it seems safer to assume any product is for DS. There seem to be so many more of them than for Poser.

You can select which software content you want to view on the Marketplace page, left-hand side.  Also, the telling clue on each item's webpage is what software they were crated for just below the images.

I hear you & I will talk to the dev team about this. Thank you for your feedback!

hborre, thank you. Yes, I'm aware that some Marketplace pages offer the ability to screen by preferred software, figures, etc., which is very helpful. My problem is with some promo images in Rendo marketing emails -- for today's Bargain Bin sale, for example -- that don't indicate the required software so I don't learn that they're DAZ-only until I click through to the product's order page. Most of the emails do provide captions below promo images indicating G8, G9, LaFemme, etc., which helps narrow down what I'm going to click on, but some don't. Rendo has such a massive amount of products available that it can be overwhelming to ferret out what I both like and can use.

Okay, that clarifies the issue.  I agree.  Maybe a corner banner identifying the source of the figure or what software it is meant for.

The posercontent website uses a small icon overlay on the bottom left of the thumbnails, maybe something like that would help.

Thanks to all who replied for your helpful responses!

Here's a good example of what I had in mind. (Thank you, Cybertenko!)

I was coincidently just thinking about this the last few days, looking at various listings that support both DS and Poser.  Some vendors will tell you which software version created their different examples, many do not.  If there is a vendor style guide, could the ‘suggestion’ to do so be added?

Often only DS samples are offered, so you have no idea what the product looks like in Poser?  I get not every merchant uses Poser and the number of cross platform options are dwindling, but it is nice from a user standpoint.  I know it makes a difference in my buying decisions.
