Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 17 1:30 pm)
"Do-it-yourself walk designer Chris, don't know if this has already been answered on list, but here's how to add your own walks to the walk designer... Note in the Poses library there's a category called WalkDesigner. Working with one of the new Poser 3 figures, double click to apply one of the five settings. I prefer starting with the walk... Once you've applied the keyframes, run the animation, playing all frames. Note the figure is walking in place, over 30 frames, completing one full walk cycle. To create your own walk cycle, you can alter one of the existing settings and add all frames (multi frame) to the WalkDesigner library with a new name, or start from scratch, observing these basic rules- 30 frames, figure is standing in place, create keyframes for every body part for every frame once the cycle is to your satisfaction. Open the Walk Designer, and voila, your magically perfect walk is there alongside our humble offerings...;-) Coop" and How to do multi limbed Walks "Okay Folks, Here's the Skinny: You can create walks (or Flights, or swims) using ANY POSER FIGURE with the Walk Designer. What must be done is creating a 30 FRAME MOTION FILE for your specific figure, and loading it into the Poses/Walk Designer Library. After doing this, you can load your figure into Poser 4, and open the Walk Designer: Now here's what's new: The new Walk Designer was given the ability to load any Poser Figure. This was done so that you could have "Multiple Channels" (like the Collars, missing in the P3 WD). Select the FIGURE TYPE and load it. (Hit the "Figure Type" Button on the WD Dialog) In this case, the CREEPER located under Zygote Characters. Then set the Creeper Walk01(Located under "Blend Styles") to 95-100%, and VOY-OH-LAY! INSTANT CREEPER WALK!!! Grey" You also need to resave the figure with IK off before doing this. If IK is on the walk designer will not work correctly.

I've heard that you can create walks in the walk designer by creating a 30 frame walk cycle yourself, and then somehow bringing it into the walk designer. Is that correct? If so how do you do it? Does it need to be 30 Frames? Thanks. Aharon
