Subject: freebies don't work for me

drawn ( ) posted Tue, 21 May 2024 at 3:02 PM · edited Sun, 17 November 2024 at 8:05 AM

I've told lots of freebies to download and rarely can find them in poser. I just have spent 1 and a half working days looking for a reebie pair of loafers for lF2 by Red Phantom that  I need, and seem almost within my grasp but don't show in my library.

Here's a suggestion to make it ezsier for me and maybe other users...vendors offer what they're giving away at a discount price, say $2. and then I can buy it and download as a purchase and I can have the items!

Yay, drawn! anther brilliant proposal!

My loafers aren't freebies. They're for sale in the marketplace.

And if you use the library installer

You'll find them here

Available on Amazon for the Kindle E-Reader Monster of the North and The Shimmering Mage

Today I break my own personal record for the number of days for being alive.
Check out my store here or my free stuff here
I use Poser 13 and win 10

Did you use the search feature in the Poser Library?  It is not perfect, but it can get the job done if you properly installed your free content.

I have seen too many freebies that do not conform to folder hierarchy and can defeat the Poser built-in installer.  But you should take an invested interest in examining each freebie file and recognizing where everything should go and where it can be found in your Poser Library.  Taking a lazy man's approach and letting automation completely do what you should be able to do manually, is a poor excuse not to learn how the software works.  Many of the old-timers have spent many years learning how Poser works, how to create runtime folders from scratch, and where everything belongs.  Comprehending from the experience we are willing to offer should make using Poser easier and more fun.

drawn, good process. Sorry I was pursuing Elleque's freebie loafer and got confused...

I did use search as I have so many times before and it often yielded nothing useful.

I'd love to follow your recommendations, but as referring to DC'S finding of a wrong word in download file, don't really know (yet) how to change them to conform to proper format and then how to "drag" that into proper folder(s)...
