Subject: Importing DAZ props into Poser 11

rabidaardvarks ( ) posted Mon, 03 June 2024 at 12:42 PM · edited Thu, 26 December 2024 at 9:46 AM

I have Poser 11 that I use regularly, and DAZ Studio 4.20 that I dont use much. I'm trying to learn it right now.

There used to be a great video on YouTube about how to link DAZ and Poser and be able to use the DAZ props in poser, but it seems to have disappeared.

It's been a long time and I dont remember all of the details, Is there another tutorial out there detailing how I can do this?

The files I want to use are the West Park building props.

Thank you.

I highly recommend the DUF Prop Converter by Ken1171_Designs which is for Poser 12 and 13 if you should decide to upgrade.

That being said, I used to just export as .fbx from DS and import into Poser.  It was a bit of a hit or miss situation which is why I think upgrading Poser and using a script like Ken's would make it so much easier for you.

I have to say I love your name and now I can't get the Aardvark's (from The Ant and the Aardvark) voice out of my head!

The West Park Props have their own Poser Core files, so there is no need to convert them from DS.  However, as Kalypso recommends, there will be situations where specific items will be in file formats not recognized by Poser.  Unfortunately, DSON Importer is no longer available for purchase, and those lucky enough to still own it (like myself) cannot use it beyond Poser 11.  Conversion is hit-or-miss but not impossible.
