Subject: How to create presets with exporting and importing

Uncanny_Film ( ) posted Tue, 13 August 2024 at 6:06 PM · edited Thu, 12 December 2024 at 9:43 AM

Hello,

I do a lot of exporting and importing. And figuring out the perfect settings and remembering them has been a big ordeal with poser. I would often just have to take a screenshot in each scenario to remember the settings. A lot of 3D applications allow you to create or save presets. Why doesn't poser allow this. Or is there a roundabout way to create one yourself and save it into poser internally. Here's a screenshot of me trying to export an FBX. There are already built-in presets for different applications. But I want to create a custom one.

Same for importing.

Sounds like a decent feature request for future Poser versions.

Do you mean something like this?

You can have as many own setups you need, I think that it's available for Collada and FBX at least.
Head over the folder named plugins inside the runtime folder that contains your executable.
In my case:

You may edit the Config files. Create a backup before, just in case. These are plain structured text files, easy to manipulate:

I've just duplicated the last preset bloc and I've given it a new name, but you get the idea.

That being said, it seems that each Poser version has somewhere in its Python scripts collections an example to import and export using the WaveFront way. So that I suppose that it would be quite easy to write something for your import needs
