The last two contests had record participation, so they're still around, but maybe too busy with summer activities to be here every day. The Galleries have always been cyclic depending on the season. Keep posting, keep commenting. It does seem the more you comment, the more activity you will see in return.

My two reasons for viewing less:
-- too much repetition (people that post 8 images a day usually the cause, and yes, including rendered images). I've blocked those artists so I can see more of other stuff.
-- too much "soft porn" ..women actually wear skirts that cover their butt cheeks, sit with their legs closed, and wear shirts that don't show cleavage or nipples. Well unless you're married to Kanye West. LOL
And some pointers:
-- If using 3D characters, remember. Faces and eyes are posable. Staring blankly into space really takes away from an image.
-- If a person is barefoot or wearing flats, pick something other than a high heel pose.
-- Don't use too many or too few lights, and make sure you're using the right kind of lighting for the renderer you are using (IBL and SuperFly do not mix).
I think perhaps a large part of the problem is that everyone's landing page is the New Art Gallery, and that contains every scrap of paper someone scribbled on and stuck up on the Rendo Refrigerator. The New Art Gallery is a challenge to view for even the most Zen of Mods. The easy solution is to use the bookmarks toolbar at the top of your browser to set a landing page somewhere else, thus avoiding most of what you don't want to see. I, of course, have a crowded toolbar with a landing page to nearly every part of Rendo to avoid having to bother clicking through layers of menus. I like to start by landing on the Vue Gallery. There's always something nice in there to see. Or, you could land on the Writers Gallery, but that is a bit of a self-serving suggestion since that's my Gallery. Do you know how long it takes to write a story? Anyway, just set a landing page to somewhere you might enjoy more than the unfiltered New Art Gallery.

Are you saying there's art in there that doesn't belong to that gallery? We do have the ability to move art to the correct gallery if it blatantly doesn't belong there. We don't do it often, but if it's become a problem, we can certainly take a look and put it at the top of the list of things that might need additional moderation to make a more enjoyable experience for everyone. What we don't want to do is a knee-jerk reaction. That never works well.

the new block feature is wonderful
I noticed fewer views in the Gallery, and I too love that we can block people who post a lot of images just to post and get points.
I land on the Daz Studio Gallery because that is what I am using.
I rather have no views and comments than the ones that are copied and pasted just to get comments back.
That is why some people are so high in those Art Charts that do not really belong there.
Don't let anyone stop you from creating the atmosphere and positive energy you want to have in your gallery.
Meanwhile, name one friend you have here, in this community -- the people who are following 0 (zero) artists [CRICKETS]
I accept copy and paste comments. Your comments are precious to me. If I like your comment I will follow you.
Thanks, for your replies and feedback, everyone.
When I log into Rendo I usually head over to the 'New Art' section and I get a look at the new entries there and if something stands out I'll click in and give it a view and usually a like and if the artist's image or video clip is really good I'll give it a comment and if it's outstanding I'll 'Favourite' it. One thing I don't do is 'copy and paste' my comments/compliments to the artist, everything I type here is straight from the heart and typed individually to the artist.
I don't link my Renderosity gallery entries into other websites, should I be doing that and if so, which website do our Renderosity Gallery artists link their Rendo posted artwork into in order to boost awareness?
Once one blocks the AI spammers and the folks posting 8 minor variations of the same render, it's not so bad. I can't really complain about the nudes or nudity - The store is loaded with female figures and skimpwear. I've heard that's what sells and it stands to reason that's what people are rendering. We're shielded from the truly horrific, soul-searing, brain-melting stuff I've seen on other sites. Also, there is some good variation in style and goals in the galleries here. There are other sites where you see page after page after page of what might as well be the work of one creator because everyone is working in the same style with, apparently, the same end-goal.It's homogenous.
When I had my gallery here, I didn't get a huge amount of traffic, but I did get a good quality of interaction and even occasional notice from folks whose work I like and respect. That is probably the biggest reason I should get off my seat and start posting here again.

Remember, these people, the AI spammers, take an image from one website and post it here in the gallery, and they expect you to comment and get all excited for an image a machine has created.Once one blocks the AI spammers
They want credit for something they didn't do!
It's high time the Renderosity mods created some new rules regarding AI-generated images in our gallery. We are an artists site, not an AI-generated ideas showcase site.Torquinox posted at 11:54 AM Sat, 7 September 2024 - #4489135

re hborre's comment re copyrights, I might disagree. Cosmetic touches might make the image a derivative works, or it might not depending on what exactly one changed. But, having read all these comments I want to relay what a speaker at a WSBA CLE I attended back in the early 90's said: erotica has driven technology. That was true then, it is true today, ever since the Super 8 movies to today's version of digital information. Back in the day, no one believed these college kids stayed up al night trying to find a faster way to send their mother's cookies recopies to their friends. There is no reason to assume anything has changed today. No one needs to like or support erotica, but everyone must realize how it's influenced the technology we use.
As always, just my contribution to the marketplace of ideas.
I block all Ai generated images, repetitive images, images that flirt with teen or underage nudity.
When time permits I try to encourage the 3D image creators. The artcharts are ancient and don't serve their purpose anymore.

The saying goes, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all." and bless your heart that you can't tell the difference. Allow this community to heal, and maybe stop pushing your anti-AI agenda. Wanna be a hero, and "stick it to the man"? Go to any AI art website and tell them to close down shop.To receive reward points for posting AI images feels to me like people trying to outsmart the Renderosity sales team, lol.

I just participated in a forum on AI here that was closed, I buy and use 3D assets and do 3D CGI renders mostly
AI is just something I play with as well
but what I am truly puzzled by and never got an answer for is
if they are so anti AI
why do they themselves post AI art in the gallery here??????
(yes I blocked their gallery just because I don't like them)
I just want to know, it irks me
I accept real artists being offended and never will use Generative AI trained on other's work for monetary gain
Out of curiosity, I looked at the who's online report. In the last 29 minutes, I counted 12,000.Just a thought - Rendo used to post the number of artists onsite - often 2000 or more. Many seem to have left/died.
I counted just 100 or so the other morning.

travn posted at 12:24 AM Thu, 28 November 2024 - #4491700@Crystalis I am talking of those who spam the gallery with AI images. You can use part AI and part render for example and create really nice artworks, but you can also enter 10 prompts a day at a website and receive reward points for that. BTW I don't block anybody, I don't attack anybody personally (as you did) and we all have to be able to live with critique: Some things like Hitler and racism, there is nothing good to tell about them, and still it is our moral duty to speak up against that, so that saying of yours, please think about it again. The saying goes, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all." and bless your heart that you can't tell the difference. Allow this community to heal, and maybe stop pushing your anti-AI agenda. Wanna be a hero, and "stick it to the man"? @Crystalis Let me add, that I take back "to receive reward points for posting AI images" and replace it by "to spam the gallery with AI images in order to gain reward points". In this you were right, what I wrote was not precise enough and indeed could hurt others' feelings. But I still uphold, that there is the possibilty of misusing the system, and that, I hope you believe me, was what I meant right from the beginning. I apologize for the generalization, I will be more careful in the future. It is NOT against AI, it is against using the gallery only in order to get the PA products for free, and therefore flood the gallery with images, which btw, can also be renders.
That's not for you to decide, and don't be rude, generation2235 pointed out this is not the thread to talk about AI images, promo images, STOP!!!To receive reward points for posting AI images feels to me like people trying to outsmart the renderosity sales team, lol.

Hi, all.
It appears Renderosity gallery viewership has diminished by quite a bit in recent months. Have many folks found an alternative site besides Renderosity to post and view their and our artwork? Where has everyone gone?
