Subject: Losing Textures from Poser Pro Pack to 3D Studio Max

Still a newby to all this. When I "host" Poser .pz3's in Max they lose their assigned textures. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to go get the textures out of my Poser files? Thanks in advance! Jay

are they not there even after the rendering (because sometimes they don't show in max window)? if so it could be poser issue - try 4.03 fix.

Thanks for replying, aleks. I had the same thought and tried rendering, still no texture. As for 4.03, I already have it loaded. I still in the dark about this if anybody can help. I load a character in Poser and add a texture, but when I host it in Max, the texture is gone. Anybody else having this problem? Thanks! Jay

ok, when you pick up the texture from the selected object, it should be a multi-map texture. can you see it? do you have bitmaps assigned to the map slots?

just to clarify what aleks said...host your scene in max,it'll come in with no textures initially.open your material editor look for and then click on the "get material" button, then when that window opens choose to get your materials from "scene"......and there they are, assign them to a slot and then whatever poser object they belong too.you'll still probably have to go through each bitmap in the multi-map to click the "visable in viewport" button to see em in the viewports, tho once assigned they will show up in your renders

Thanks guys for the tips. I have been really busy the couple of days, but I will post again when I have had a chance to try your suggestion. Jay

Well, I had a chance to play with it and was able to solve the problem. Pack, from the Max forum, reccomended that I upgrade to PPP Service Release 3. That did it. The textures are now importing with the models and rendering. Thanks for your help! Jay
