OK, I just had to try my hand at using Poser and Bryce together in some fashion. I barely know my way around Poser, and had never touched Bryce before. And no I didn't bother with no stinking manual. This is my first trex picture. I have no idea how to get his head out of the clouds, or make sure his feet are on the ground. But the ground looks decent?!

Now, in this one, trex's head is not in the clouds, but the ground doesn't look real. I couldn't figure how to fix things. By the way, I rendered trex in Poser, then exported as obj. I had no idea how to answer all the questions they asked in the process, so I just hit enter. Maybe that had something to do with why trex's skin texture is not as green as it is in Poser?

This render of trex was done using a background created by Corel Dream 3D, and importing it as a background into Poser. It seems almost impossible to get the figures to look like they are actually on the ground. In this case, good old Trex is taking a nap. I wore him out.

Have you looked at nerd's backdrop prop in the marketplace? Just a thought . . .?

Also... Are you sure that in those renders, that the t-rex is actually on the ground? From the looks of things, you have the modeled positioned about the actual ground. Perhaps try and bring the model down until he actually begins to interfer with the ground plane or, simply click the "Move Down" button on Bryce. You've got some great picture ideas.

No, I'm not sure the Trex is on the ground, and having some trouble figuring that out. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to know if he's there. Is there a way I can see a texture preview, or some sort of signal tha tells me "He's on the ground?!"

DOH, maybe when he's on the ground, his shadow meets his body?

Clicking on "Figure->Drop Figure to Ground" should work, as long as any terrain mesh coincides with the ground plane. (if not, raise or lower the terrain until they coincide at the point under the figure). I use "drop figure to ground" a lot.

Well I finally figured how to get Trex on the ground. Now I figure I'll go back to Poser till I have learned the basics, then go on to something else. I tend to get scatter-brained and learn months later that I don't know half of it.

What's Corel Dream 3D? That background is fabulous. I tried to run a search in the Corel site, and it only brought up the Bryce 5 page. The words "Dream 3D" appear on that page, but it doesn't look like it's a program. Just curious. Melanie

Well Corel Dream 3D came with Corel Draw 8 which is a few years old. (Corel Draw 10 is current I think.) I think that Corel Dream 3D is a dummied version of what is now Carrera Studio... It had gone through some name changes over the years.
