I had asked how to apply the transmaps for exported charactors and frogdot at 3D Commune pointed me to this excellent tutorial that explains it step by step

Actually I strongly disagree with several things in that tutorial. For one thing, it makes more work than is necessary. Yes, I used to fiddle about with families once upon a time. You don't need to. One of these days when I have the time I'm going to make my own tutorial.
