Subject: Bryce 5 vs. Vue 4

(I just posted this in the Vue forum also. . .) Ok, perhaps this questions and debate has been going on for a while (or maybe it hasn't, I'm relatively new to the 3d Community) - BRYCE 5 Vs. VUE 4: Which is the better program?

Prepare yourself for the argument of all times.... To me this is what it comes down to; which program do you sync up with better? You should download the demo's of both and try them, decide for yourself. There are WAY too many spec's to be comparing, besides the comments of all of us. I, by the way, vote for Bryce. Good luck. This is something you will need to decide for yourself. In my opinion Bryce 5 is way more powerful then Vue, but others may see it differently. Try out the demo's see which one is the best fit for you. Check out the galleries around the net and the newsgroups for each program see which one has the quality that you wish for your own images. Right now there is a contest to win Bryce 5 on the front page of Renderosity. Download Bryce 5 demo and make an entry! If you need more links to Bryce galleries and tutorials just ask I will post some of my favorites. Enjoy! Griggs

First, thanks for responding! I have upgraded to Bryce 5 recently, and just posted this to get some ideas. I really like B5, and have tried the evaluation version of Vue 4, as I have seen the stunning images that software has produced on tha net. Vue 4's interface feels too "soft" for me, for some reason, but I admit I have only tried it once, I think, and haven't really given it a chance. I get "comfortable", and am situated to Bryce's interface. The only gripe I have with Bryce (or perhaps my Pentium 3 computer) is the render times! Phew. I just had a huge picture lock up on me, (of course I was opening other programs, to see the progress of the 4000 pixel wide .jpg, but hey). I would also like to see the ability to edit meshes in Bryce. Again, thanks Inspector and Griggs for replying, and for your friendly comments!

listen to me....... now listen real good are ya listening hello there(knocks on the monitor) bryce five sucks get vue four bryce five is ok but there are so many buts i dont even know where to start if landscape art is where you want your money to go then buy vue4 but if you want a renderer with a little more staying power then go for bryce for things other than totally landscapes does this make any sense now heres another thing to consider vue imports poser stuff well, really well in fact it imports full scenes i bought five hopeing for more but all i got was more but in time ive got truespace5 on the way and im really wondering about these smaller programs they all started out really simple to use and really fun to work with but through time i guess the market gets to them so they try to do all of this hokey pokey stuff to keep the revenue coming in if i hadnt got bryce five before i saw what vue had to offer i wouldve gotten vue for sure its practically the same system but there one really important thing............. vue is cheaper and for the little extra you get in bryce five its not worth it but dont get me wrong i love bryce and will always but its like being married to a wife who puts out in the bed and thats it she doesnt have any life other than that vue,is differant i have the 2.1 or what ever its called that i got for free and to tell you the truth every time i get it out i have fun its up to you but do this one little thing get the bryce demo tryit get the vue demo then try that at the same time youre working with bryce then think about it carefully or you could just get them both....hehe or maybe just go get a cheeseburger (mmmmmmmmmmmcheeeseburgers.........) well got to go have fun decideing cheers!

...as I wipe the cheesy knuckle prints off my monitor... ...One thing I will give Vue 4 is its ability to import Poser scene's, very nice...Bryce needs that badly. bryce five sucks"/"but dont get me wrong i love bryce and will always". ?....... wife, bed, sex...3D software..? Maybe eating a cheeseburger will help me understand... Carl's Jr.,In And Out,Fuddrucker's...all have good cheeseburgers...makin' me hungry...
