thip ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 3:52 PM

Ahh - at long last, a dragon that doesn't make you chuckle when you see it - thanx, Warrior. ... (no offense, DAZ, your dragon is beautiful, but even when snarling, he makes me want to scratch his ears).

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 3:55 PM

Looks great and I would love to see it poserized

nikitacreed ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 3:56 PM

I agree with thip. I love the dragon at DAZ...but I don't want to spend that much $$$ on a big scaly puppy. LOL!

duanemoody ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 3:57 PM

That's a regular Komodo underneath the wings and extra spikes, no? Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to see a dragon that's based off a non-extinct reptile and doesn't look like a bird on steroids, and I'll be downloading it as soon as you have her up. Thanks to all.

WarriorDL ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 3:58 PM

Duane (and anyone else), ever see the movie DragonHeart? That's where Draco is from.

Schlabber ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 4:09 PM

You are giving away THAT for free - marvellous :o) Hmmm - I didn't make so much combined Dragon poses - but with this ... hey what an idea ... Can't wait :o)

WarriorDL ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 4:13 PM

By Schlabber- You are giving away THAT for free - marvellous :o) Well, if I had made the original... Thing is, there's a couple of things with this: 1. I never sell anyone elses work (in fact, I have yet to sell anything L) 2. Draco is a copyrighted character from the movie DragonHeart.

nikitacreed ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 4:19 PM

Looks just like Draco. I suppose that is why I like it so much. As for him looking like a Komodo dragon? :o It doesn't look like any Komodo I have ever seen. I'm still here looking at the pic and drooling. ;o)

sithgoblin ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 4:26 PM

EchoExousia ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 5:14 PM

THAT is cool.

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 5:21 PM

Please, please, please tell me that it'll be Mimic-ready. I wanna feed it some Sean Connery voice-clips.

bloodsong ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 5:25 PM

heyas; too cool! good luck, warrior :) so... where can i get the lightwave version?

WarriorDL ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 5:29 PM

bloodsong, unfortunatly, the LW version is no longer available. The guys site is gone. The original IOB version I can't find either online. Luckily I got both versions when I did. In fact, I have to use the IOB version, because slicing and dicing that LW version would be harder: When the guy converted it, he named all the body parts the same surface in LW. The IOB version still has the seperate parts, so it'll be easier.

WarriorDL ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 5:30 PM

...oh, and as to Mimic Ready.... I'm not that good sigh

Larry F ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 6:10 PM

That's fine. Is that the same Mauro Marenzi who used to be on the Imagine Mailing List and stun us all with his magical creations? Or maybe he was Dopplered/Poserized himself. Anyway, a VERY VERY VERY TALENTED FELLOW! Congrats to you WarriorDL and looking forward. Larry F

LaurieA ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 6:21 PM

Not to be a wet blanket, but does the original creator know about your plans to adapt it for Poser and give it away? I'm sure you do, just checking ;). Don't want to download it, fall in love and then find out I have to get rid of it ;). Laurie

Director ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 6:27 PM

WarriorDL first let me say, thank you. Before Renderosity had the market place members used to exchange things and teach each other new techniques. Nice to see someone isnt trying to make money off of this. Once you have the figure diced up I can add lipsych to it if youd like. When I got the Zygote Dragon Hatchling the first thing I did was make some phoneme morphs.

oh.. thats.. incredible.... just beautiful. I (no offence Daz) hate the Daz Dragon.. just not attractive to me.. I like dragons to inspire majesty :Grins: not chuckles... thats amazing... It's a good day.. I've been impressed like.. 3 times already. Anz P.S. Don't laugh... this is when I first started using poser.. this is a raptor with dragon wings attached.

Viomar ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 7:01 PM

Ah Man!! This is killing me! :-( I've been working on & off to make one myself! Got stuck at the Wings! Ah Well, this model is the same one i'm using for reference... Which is already a great mesh! Well GodSpeed WarriorDL!! Marco

shadowcat ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 7:04 PM

I just love it, but 1 question, what's the poly count?

Anzan ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 7:16 PM

lol.. heh heh.. can you imagine making textures for that thing? :chuckles: I'm so excited....

Strangechilde ( ) posted Fri, 09 November 2001 at 7:32 PM

From an owner of DragonFactory... That model is BEAUTIFUL! Wow... and you're offering this for free? Wow!

WarriorDL ( ) posted Sat, 10 November 2001 at 12:13 AM

By LaurieA- Not to be a wet blanket, but does the original creator know about your plans to adapt it for Poser and give it away? From Mauro's words: YOU CAN'T RESELL THEM OR MODIFY AND RESELL THEM (referring to his models) Thus, it can be converted (modified) and given away, but not sold. Larry, probably the same guy, since the original is in Imagine (iob) format.

LaurieA ( ) posted Sat, 10 November 2001 at 12:16 AM

Good enough...was just checking. Like I said, I didn't want to have to give it up once I got it ;). Laurie

c1rcle ( ) posted Sat, 10 November 2001 at 6:10 AM

WOW!!!!!!! Draco's going to be free!!!!! WOOOHOOOOOOOO I love dragonheart and now we're going to get to play with him as well, I can already see a great texture in my mind for him

Wowzers! And so soon after I released my Land Dragon (sigh, so many problems with him...)

Remember, kids! Napalm is Nature's Toothpaste!

WarriorDL ( ) posted Sun, 11 November 2001 at 4:34 PM

Valandar, I had planned on doing this one once before, back when I first DL'd the Draco model. But I got sidetracked, forgot I had it, etc. It was your Land Dragon that reminded me I had Draco :o) ------------- Progress: I have the main body sliced and diced for Poser. Doing the wings now. Once that's done, then I'll make the initial template.

wolfetrap ( ) posted Sun, 11 November 2001 at 4:46 PM

You wonderful person you.

shadownet ( ) posted Sun, 11 November 2001 at 5:48 PM

Wow! Awesome looking dragon. I too will be waiting to download. Only wish I had is sooner. I could have used it in my DragonWorld picture I just posted to the Gallery. No problem, I am still working on the V2 gal I featured in the pic so I am sure she will need atleast one more picture of her tending to her dragon brood. :o)

Talos ( ) posted Tue, 13 November 2001 at 8:07 PM

Oooh! Ah! Wantitwantit! Megasuperb. I don't mind the the DAZ dragon except the price, but this rules. I recognized the Dragonheart dude immediately. The action figure doth sit atop my monitor. You are a benefactor of humankind. A thousand thanks! This character shall be posted in the galleries by all til the end of days. Sitting on it would indeed be an ouch. :-)
