Subject: Scaling Michael/Vicki at the shoulder problem

Has anyone figured out what a good solution for scaling the arms shorter or longer? It looks fine but then when you pose them the collar/shoulder joint goes a little goofy since they are on a different scale because the joint shifts direction. I was wanting to create a figure but this is holding me back a little. Normally I would do a couple of minutes of post work but this is not an option in this case. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

heyas; hmmm.... you can either try hacking the cr2 to add more joint scale parameters (you know how you can adjust the body part scaling to affect other parts along one axis, which usually isn't helpful at all?) another thing you can try is scaling the arms, and then moving the joint centers to the new locations. dont re-adjust the settings, just move the centers. um.... that might not work, but you can, to a limited degree, morph the arm (and associated bits) to a new length, and then move the joint centers to the new spots. it doesnt work 100%, but it is a bit of improvment.

Dang .. I was afraid it was joint parameters and all. Those are one thing I never grasped. Nasically all I want to do is shorten and lengthen the arms a little. I will see if I can figure out the JP's though I might need to yell out some more.

This can be a real pain. Mike and Victoria are great figures but I never had such scaing problems with Mark and Posette. The only solution I've found is to use magnet deformers to bend the parts back where you want them not an easy solution, and not a pretty one, but the best I can offer. I usually do series(es) of morph targets for such specific bendies. I'm afraid I know nothing about joint parameters-- I'm still learning; that's just too complex for me!

I tried the morph target proposition but it wasn't really successful using magnets. Plan on trying other things but was just seeng if I could figure it out or learn JP's ... Shudders

I couldn't get squat with the center settings but think I actually made it work!

Woohoo! Well, now we all know who to ask when we can't figure out what we're doing. ;)

I wouldn't go that far :) And I am not sure if it perfect yet but it seems to work.
