Subject: Are figures created in the Pro pAck usable in Standard Poser?

Hi- I'd like to create some poser figures in the Pro pack, but I don't know if they work in regular poser. Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Aharon

If you are going to create stuff for people I'd suggest you invest the extra HDD space and install poser twice. Once as 4.03 and once as PPP. I use PPP and what I find is that there are a number of funny little things that happen: when people open your stuff from the library they get a disconcerting but harmless error message saying that the file is the wrong version. (the .obj file header is the culprit i think) no fingernail is created for P4 people. PPP makes a .png file for the fingernail and p4 wants a .bum file for the bump map which it will make but PPP can use .jpgs or whatever. all in all a rough ride for the newbie who may buy your stuff.

We test our stuff in Pro Pack and in Poser 4, but it is all put together in Poser 4 so all people can use it. But you can use both together. Sharen

I have ran into a couple of files made in PPP that, while it'll load and conform in regular Poser, it won't re-save to the Library.

Have a few Mike items in freestuff - they're all PPP, but so far, I've only heard of one user who's had problems in regular P4. However, I do not use bump maps, so I have no experience with any problems they may cause.

Thanks. Her's a question while we are on the subject, how do you create a UV map for PPP created figures. What geometry do you base the UV map on? Or, do you need to map it before you bring it in to Poser? Thanks.
