Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 31 11:34 am)
I use organica to create body parts then export as 3DS format, import 3DS into rhino to compose or place the parts (very nice program, you can copy, rotate, scale, mirror, strech, bend etc...very fast too, export from rhino as wavefront obj format, import into supermapper for very simple cylindrical UV mapping then re-save as obj format, import into Poser 4, (it comes in as one piece), spawn props, make groups with group tool and add material name to groups, give heirarchy with heir editor, add rotation order and use the create new figure button. Hard part is bending joints, I use spherical fall-off zones to make it easy. I add a simple mottled texture, the default ground texture seems to work fine for me. I'm not an expert at this, but I do like the anime style tentacle monsters and zygote doesn't make them, (if they did, they would be priced out of the ballpark). I wanted to make several creatures and put them on CD for a relatively cheap price. As soon as I post this message, I will post a new one with a new creature, look for it in a few minutes. Thanks for the great comments guys, David
Sorry, I don't have a web site, wish I did thought. I don't know how to create web site yet, I'll probably ask someone to feature this stuff on their site for me. I just posted another a minute ago. I hope to have them all posable really soon. I have to tell you thought, these are not high-tech. Most don't have posable mouths, just teeth in a maw, there are no fancy maps for textures, if your good, you can do that yourself. I would supply on cd the pre-exported poser file, so if people wanted to re-arrange things or add things, you can do it yourself. I would also, of course, have the posable file. I will also supply the rhino file if people have it and the original obj file that was used to import into Poser 4, this obj file can be imported into Raydream and broken apart for morph targets. I plan on selling the CD-for only around 20-25 dollars. Some of the different styles of creatures are plantish, alienish, waterish, wormish, dogish, spiderish. I had considered making posable props to go along like extra horns, and well, "adultish" style "naughty tentacles" if you know what I mean. I don't know how people will feel about that. Thanks for your interest, I'll keep the forum posted. Send me your e-mail address and I'll let you know whats going on. David
