I've downloaded a couple of models over the last few days and some of them come with a .cr2 file, which is some kind of file necessary to use the model. Nobody has instructions on what this is or how to open it. I know pp2 and rsr. How do I open this dang thing?? Figured this would be faster than waiting for email from somebody...and btw, for those selling or uploading models: LEAVE INSTRUCTIONS.

.cr2 files go in the file that goes in your Poser4/runtime/libraries/character folder. the file itself points to where the geometry is stored and keeps track of the materials applied to the model. for a complete rundown on one convenient cheat sheet cruise over to my tutorial site. IT IS NOT a tutorial it's a friendly little chart that tells you where all those little poser files in freestuff go.

The .cr2 file also contains things like morph settings, information on how to pose the item, and generally how Poser can play with the .obj file. Without the .cr2, the object is static.

Maybe if you had a manual, you'd know how to load figures?

I do. Maybe if they'd bother to put cr2 in the index, that would help. Just a thought. We can't all be geniuses like you. And thanks to the others for the INTELLIGENT repsonses.

Yeah the manual...well it's pretty good as manuals go but the in depth stuff is lacking.
