Hi everyone. I just got poser for this thing called e-fedding. Well, since I am new, I have no idea how to use this thing. If someone would be kind enough to help me teach me the basics, it would be much appreciated. Much MUCH appreciated!

Cool! We could help you better if you let us know SOMETHING about your proficiency in graphics and/or computers. Are we working with someone that can find their way around a graphics program or some primordial ooze? :-)

You have picked an excellent starting point. Renderosity is a great community full of people who will help and provide encouragement, education, enlightenment, etc. If you want another place for helpful information, check out my site.

To add clothing, having selected the garment from the clothing menu, click on the Double Tick at the bottom to add the clothing to the scene. After loading select the newly added article then go to the Figure menu and pick Conform To. From the new menue select the figure the garment will be worn by, usually Figure 1. If you are using a Mac, Renderosity freestuff files which download as Freestuffdownload.ez have to be drag and dropped onto the Stuffit icon to expand before being used. Convert these files to Mac format using the Poser Macconverter which I think is in freestuff as well. (I'm on the Windows one as I write and the System Admin person can see me, otherwise I will tell you exactly where it is)

SooPlex Hi! Welcome to the Poser Community & welcome to the Renderosity Poser Forum! If I might be allowed to make a suggestion; (this is exerpted from a post I made to another newcomer recently who was looking for info) Look at the top of this page, there's a link called tutorials. Click that. Most of the tutorials you'll see have something to do with Poser. Scroll to the bottom-right corner of this page, you'll see a column of links headed "Poser Top 15". Click on any of them. Look for tutorials on each site. Look for links to other poser sites, look for tutorials on these. A lot of poser sites may not have Tutorials. Many, Many, many do. Look for Poser Arcana, Look for ShadowCat's site, Look for Morphworld, Etc., etc, etc . . . I could go on typing sites with tutorials all nite, but I can't give you any better suggestions than to just start here, then go clicking around the Poser Webbring. That's how I learned most of what I know. Same for many others you'll hear from here. As far as books go, start with the manual that came with Poser. (Unless your copy is Warez (cracked, illegal), in which case this isn't the place for you). Publisher Charles River has published several poser-related books. Go to Amazon.com or any major Bookseller & punch Poser &/or 3D into their search engine. Go to Curious Labs' (publishers of Poser) site & poke around. Go to DAZ.com & poke around. Before you know it, you can be a poser expert, & make a contribution to the poser community, like many of the artists and enthusiasts that contribute & maintain this site. There's a tremendous feast awaiting you, dig in! Happy Rendering! leather-guy

Welcome to the money pit... oh I mean the Poser Communtiy. Just lamenting about where all my Christmas money is going on all this fun stuff I have missed out on. Tow things that should help a ton: Goto poserarcana.com. They have great tutorials. Also check the archives here for other tutorials and the archive of past tech tips. If all else fails, post a question and have a ton of experts answer :) Betsy
