Has anyone else seen this problem? Transperncys in MAX not working properly...usually bein too transparent for some reason? Especially on hair and things like the PhilC bustier in this pic...any idea's how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

search for similar problems either in max or poser forum. that's been an issue some weeks (months?) ago.

Try editing the materials in Max (use the eye-dropper in the material editor window to create a multi-subobject mat). Maybe that will help.

With Hair, Like Kozaburo's Hair, you need to make the mesh "2 sided"!! That will solve it for Hair! And there's a good chance this will also solve it for clothes... Just click "force 2 sided" in Material editor. Hope this helps you! Marco

The thing that really does the trick is adjusting the Falloff Amount to 0 (from 100) in the Extended Parameters rollout in the Material Editor. This works especially well for the hair.

Its the falloff. Max does some great stuff with ramping the transparency maps up and down for more realism... when the mesh is very "skinny" the transparency never ramps to full before it has to "fall off" again.
