Subject: joint parameter problems...

Ok... here we go again with the joing parameters... the rest of this figure has gone pretty well up until here. the problem is this: even though I have the positive and negative zones set to what should deform only the shins and below on an x rotation, it still pulls the thigh along with it... comments and suggestions are certainly welcome/needed and if anyone would like to see the files involved, let me know and I'll send them your way... thanks

You may want to check your hierarchy.

Did that.. shin is a child of the thigh and so on... that's part of what makes this rather baffling... any other possiblities you can think of?

Turn on the ik chains, you will see an set of 'end point' coordinates appear under some joint parameters that's not visible with ik off. Also I believe you need to use spherical falloff zones for that joint.

tried the falloff zones but didn't think of the IK chain possibility.. will look into that tomorrow.. tired now.. need sleep.. thanks...
