Subject: Using Digital Photo image for Textures

Teppodama ( ) posted Wed, 21 November 2001 at 8:27 PM ยท edited Tue, 04 February 2025 at 3:01 PM

Can anyone give me any helpful hints on Using digital photos on the Micheal and Vicky templates? I can get the front of the head done without a problem. I do have a problem "skinning" the sides and top of the head. Any ideas? I use Photoshop to work the images onto the template. I have tried using the Cloning tool but the results are far from what i would call good looking work. Alot of overlap and bleeding skin tones from different areas of the face. It makes me wonder how Catharin P. does it. She manages to get the skin image all the way around. :) Any Advice would be welcome

Catharina has magical powers that no one else has. ;) It takes time to do it, but I just keep using the cloning tool with a very soft edge. Take the softness down almost to the bottom so the edges are very blurred. I've also used a noise filter on the background layer (before flattening the layers), after I've placed the face in the right place, then I flatten the layers and blend the edges with the cloning tool. There's probably a smarter and easier way to do it. I'm not the expert that Catharina is, but it comes out pretty good for me. Mine aren't store quality (which is why I don't share them), but passable. Catharina, are you out there, hon? Could you maybe consider doing a tutorial on how you do it? :) Melanie

Hi Melanie, I am here but a couple days to later. I made digital photos for my textures too but I use Deep paint 3D with Texture weapons what allow me to ad the photos also on the top and the side, without paint projection is very much work. I will make tutorial but if I have more time, and on this moment trust me not to much. I start with new project . Have a great weekend Cath

Catharina, If working with Deep Paint and Texture weapons allows you to do the incredible work you do then I definantly am going to buy those programs from Daz. Maybe you could make a tutorial on how you work in Deep Paint. When I buy a copy or if anyone else has it, I am sure we will find it very informative.

Teppodama, the software is not simple and you need good computer to make your work fast. you need min Pentium3 732Mhz to make textures on 3000x3000 if you don't have please try first the demo of Deep paint with texture weapons before. I know that is much money , I work now very long with and I am still not perfect and maybe never will :-) Much success Cath
