This is probably really obvious, and someone has already said this, but its my first tip so pretend to be interested ;) If you're looking for high res photos to use as a base for texture, but -like me- you're not lucky enough to have a $4,000 digital camera, then you can find a site that reviews or sells digital cameras and has sample images. the image here is an example - from the camera, sadly not one of my renders!! ;) - is a small slice of a 2meg jpg!

what do you mean by "base texture" do you mean bump map or something else? Thanks :)

Bia He means that in Photoshop (or other like) you can build up layers. The bottom most graphic layer often is a real skin that you piece and paint together over your template. the next layer may be a hair layer or a makeup layer. usually just the final .jpg or .tif render of the photoshop stack is given away or sold. :( a real bummer. though it would be larger having the whole stack would make it easier to derrive your own works. there are a few really cool artists that have given away just their base layers and say you can make derrivative works from it.

Toashzadel, that's an interesting eye shape - could you post the full eye with the outside corner and brow? TIA

Wow! It seems I made a half decent point!! :) It feels good to give something back!! try dpreview.com, but be careful not to use up all their bandwidth!! plus they are on windows so if u all rush at once it'll fall over! ;) lol let me know how you get on :)
