Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 10 10:00 pm)
I use the full version of Painter3D with none of the problems you mention. I export an obj out of Poser (not the one from the poser directory - it looks screwy) and import it into Painter3D, no problems. Use implicent (sp) mapping and create one from scratch or import an existing one. Save often but check the texture first. I occasionally find stray lines across my texture from when I draw a little to close to the edges of the texture. Do you have the same problems with simple non-poser props? smerc p.s. I'm using Poser 3 not 4 yet.
I am not sure about the tutorial you talked about, but I found one that goes like this. I export my figure as a detailer text (saying ok to first two boxes and leaving last box unchecked) Then open Painter and go to acquire detailer text. After you have a 3d model, go to show objects 3d, click on hierarchy, click on the eye of ground and click on the name figure one or whatever. Then I go to map and there is "load" not in grey. One time I forgot the 3d object box and everything was in grey. Bill

I've uninstalled the full version of Painter 3D thinking the "Poser version" would have an advantage..and fix this problem..NOT! I did get the "fixed" Painter3D.rsr file..copied it over the one in the main folder. Now, with both, I get all greyed-out choices in the Map drop down menu..can't get a texture "applied" to the object. I've been following Colm's tutorial to the letter, but can't figure why the Menu is greyed out..not choice to "Load/Texture". Anyone have any ideas...did I not do something or is there another way to get the texture applied to the figure?? This DOES happen with both versions.. Foxhollow
