If you can be more specific on the type of clothing or characters you'd like to try, I'm sure someone can suggest something close to get you started. Welcome to R'osity btw!

I'm sure some experts (which isn't me) will chime in here and give you more specific info but in the mean time, you'll probably find what you're looking for in the tutorial section, while expanding your general Poser knowledge. You also might do a search in this forum (the link is below the "would you like to post a reply" boxes). I've found these two sources invaluable.

To make clothing or props you need to have a modeling program that can export to 3D formats supported by Poser. There are many modeling programs to choose from ranging from Free to multi thousands of dollars and with a whole range of learning curves as well. I suggest Wings 3D for the beginner modeler, for three reasons. 1 - it is free, 2 - it has a very active forum where you can learn lots of stuff about HOW to do things, and 3 - it is being improved on a weekly basis. There are other good modelers to choose from however. Wings just happens to be my choice. Find one you like, make some simple models with it at first, export them to .obj format and load them up into Poser to get your feet wet. After that, you'll want to start applying texture maps, but that's more than you need to worry about at first. Suffice it to say there are modelers out there that export textures too, or you can pick up a texture mapping program like UVMapper to make them after the fact. jon
