I think this site has some neat looking grass in 3ds format which might work for you. Good luck. Oh and the kind of scene you are talking about seems pretty difficult. But I saw Final Fantasy movie which I heard was done with Maya. The main character's hair was blowing in the wind. If you haven't seen this movie, it's well worth it just to check out the graphics even if you don't like the genre. The DVD is hilarious with the "out takes" done on purpose.Of course I've seen the movie :))) I loved all the FF Games and I loved the movie, too! YES - their are folks that liked it. The story was not the best but HEY - look what you can do with Maya :) Absoluuutly great graphics - have read an articel about the renderfarms they've used g WANNA HAVE SUCH THINGS AT HOME!!! But thanks for the tip - I'll have a look. And btw: I just want to make some more realistic grass, better than the vue-grass. Real grass is longer, a little bit greener and not such spicky thingis of 3cm height :P
The long grass vegetation from e-on may have been what you've been seeing too. It's an extra veg that you need to buy separate at the e-on website. I use it A LOT in my scenes. In fact, it's probably the single most useful plant that e-on makes. They make regular grass (short...looks mowed) and then they make long grass which is much finer blades and grows in clumps. Very nice :) Laurie

In our Annex, the Archive Tips Collection, there is a mini-tutorial for creating fields of grass that might also help. :)This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. Hi, I'm curious how some folks, some really great artists here at the board, do some of their stuff - one thing of it is, this fluffy, nice green and long green grass. Yes - long! :) Not this ...uhm... grass-thingi that comes with Vue - seems for me like little green spikes on the ground. Just some hours ago I saw some great grass in a pictures (god d***, forgot the name) - it was wonderfull long, waving in the Wind and it the grass was fine and not so thick as the vue-grass. Is such stuff somewhere downloadable? Would be great to see a nice grassfield, waving in the wind of late autumn, while leaves are falling silent down into it... I've search many many sites, but never found anything that looked like REAL grass to me... sigh
