its the way you took the pic and finished the print that freaks me out, that and his seedy lil'smile... Is this from a digi or 35mm? Can't see a hint of grain, but maybe you work with a medium format or somethng if it ain't a digi. Either way, wicked pic, and thanks for posting it.

Shot with a 25 year old 4x5 camera with a crappy little lens. I used Ikea goose neck lamps with tin foil and cardboard tubes as snoots and reflectors. The background is a snake plant. Thanks for the comments Slynky.

Ever see that movie I think it was called The Game, with Micheal Douglous in it? Good movie btw...anyway, theres this life size doll very similar to that only its of a clown. Since then these things have given me the heebiest of jeebies!!! The picture itself is fantastic. :)

Uh I saw the game. I don't remember any clown? I wonder if I blanked it out. Perhaps what is giving people the creeps is that the doll reminds them of a certain children comic character who was recorded flashing others in a peep show? ( Hint: Pee Wee Herman ) Pitty, his career was doing pretty good up to that point. Save the doll Pee Wee herman Stuff may be collectible! BTW: Most of the facial features are exagerated! Eyes too large too much space between the eyes and the eyebrows which are too long, nose is too straight, ears too large, space between top lip and noose is too small, bottom lip too receded from nose, chin too...ect. I am going to have check out that movie. I might get inspired. I used to watch Pee Wee's Playhouse all the time. What an innovative show. It is to bad what happend to his career. If he had of looked like Hugh Grant it might not have affected him as much.

I dont think the clown doll playes a major roll in the movie or anything lol it was just the way that the "game" begun. Unless that wasnt the name of the movie...lol. I saw the Betsy doll and its spooky too! Only more in a Chucky in Childsplay type of sense. These two are excellent though. You have the perfect lighting with the perfect ballance of shadows and the angles you shot from were nice as well.

Nice photo, wonderful use of the light to get fabulous pop. BTW, I don't think it's even a little bit creepy...? I guess I didn't see any of those movies, although there was that one with Ann Margaret and Anthony Hopkins. Sue

I haven't seen Nightmare Before Christmas although it's always shown on cable and the character designer is one of my favorite illustrators of all time, Lane Smith. I'm gonna go look for the video...

starshuffler, those characters in NBC are so incredible beautiful and well tought that I havent seen anything like that before, and after. Directed by Jim Burton, need to say more? ...i'm not gonna praise the movie anymore, but know that after I saw the film, I bought the DVD and I did not even had DVD-player. .n

It's got a fairly awesome soundtrack as well.

Antoonio, you must see the film adaptation of Roald Dahl's "James & the Giant Peach". Creatures created by the same guy who did Nightmare-- Lane Smith! And the story is good-- pretty close to the book, save for the non-morbid ending in the movie. ;-)

James & the Giant Peach and Nightmare Before Christmas are two of my all time favorite flicks. I would highly recommend them as well. I love the soundtrack for Nightare as well. Pretty sad to here about Pee Wee.

You two JAMES and the giant peach was a tad too scary an idea for me. My parent's had a peach tree in the back yard for years. NBC is a good movie. I suppose Danny Elfman ( of Oingo Boingo ) did the sound track. He's doing that a lot these days. I had considered buying a couple of the action figures. But the santa is just too skinny! Am I the only person here who like Wallace and Gromitt? Also I heard about Pee Wee. I don't mind the pron stuff. big deal! As long as he controols himself. But it's his attention defficient that is his problem. He keeps exposing himself. Calm down Mr. Herman. Calm down. However I think he still does bit movie parts. he just does not look like Pee Wee! Stars, I saw the peach thing. Fantastic piece. Just channelsurfed and saw it... I tought something ringed the bell with charachters. It was really neat, ok, ending suk big time, but animation parts where great. So, have you seen the NightmareBC yet? ...or do I have to come over there and give you little whipping?
