Subject: Editing 3DS models in Carrara??

Blacksteel ( ) posted Sun, 02 December 2001 at 4:08 PM · edited Wed, 04 December 2024 at 1:43 PM

Hello all, Im still getting my feet wet with Carrara, And I have been playing around with things. Recently I downloaded a Model of a tree, that I wanted to mess around with. The tree was imported as a 3DS model. Each time I try to Jump into a section of the mesh, it says "No Paramiters" But will list the objects name. Is there a way to transform subparts, into Meshes, so that I can mess around with them? BTW, I have the version (1.1 Eovia converted) But bought it when Metacreations ran the show, and that particular manual..well... The manual really stinks, or im a moron. (Probably the latter part of that) =) Anyway, could one of you Guru's tell me if its possible to edit imported meshes, and add Verticies to existing 3DS models that I import? All this is in the attempts to learn modeling, and making poser figures, and objects. This model Idea I have would mostlikely be a freebee, but its complexitys (for me now) are driving me nuts.. Got all the right tools, just don't know how to work them all just yet. Thanks a ton, Learning alot, just not what I need to know right now.. = Blacksteel
