I've been our out-of town/out-of-country's un-authorized guide since I've moved here (St. Augustine, FL), which is kinda strange, since I'm a "stranded viking" from Norway. One of my interests is history, - so I actually enjoy my guide job very much. And St. Augustine has a lot to offer, - as it is the oldest city in St. Augustine, - and established by the Spaniards more than 450 years ago. Some of the Famous spots aren't that old, - and a few times I've taken our guests to our lighthouse. I am hoplessly afraid of heights, - and it is a real effort for me to climb up there. So while climbing, - I'm in no shape or form to take any pictures. It's enough for me to cling to the rail and not look down. *g* So this picture was taken down, - and up. :) And I do think that the sun god gave me god's speed. Britt

sheepish grin read.... the oldest city in the US.... Now, that makes more sense, - doesn't it? Britt

doesn't vertigo come when you are looking down? Im sorry, but nothing will ever equal the sense of vertigo one gets when they go to the CN Tower (tallest manmade structure in the world, and its in Toronto), especially when you stand one the transparent floor... -shudder- I love fractal pictures like this. Theres some big fractal phenomenon going on at Renderosity right now and I love it to bits! Syyd, get back into that strange fractal art you used to do, and become the reigning queen! ry

Slynk, y'know what's even more frightening? Climbing Blackpool Tower in the UK and standing on the glass floor at the top of that - there's nothing below, just one big drop....and the fact it isn't as high as other structures makes it worse.....your brain can actually work out how far the drop is and how long you would be able to scream before hitting the dirt..... Fractals for slynky eh??????? Well I can imagine that this could give your gut quite a twirl, staring up into it for too long, its thought of what its like at the top that does it......Wow....You are really inspiring me here.
