Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 22 9:27 pm)
Aha! I suspected that the zones shouldn't really fall off like that! :) Thank you, Phil! I've been thinking about increasing the values for the cloths, - after all they DO surround the body parts. I understand that the "center" values need to be the same, - but are there other values that actually also should be increased for the clothes to conform naturally? Thinking for instance of a skirt. I'd assume that you only use the Hip (see, - I even remembered to CAP the H), for the legs, - in which case the end of the skirt naturally would have different end points than the hips? Britt
Hip end point..... I'd probably have to see the model to be sure, my first reaction would be to keep it the same as the base figure. You will almost certainly however have to have leg elements in there to give the control required. If you are getting serious about setting up these Poser figures you may find my Tutorial CD useful. On it I go into great detail regarding all aspects of joint parameters. Even though its a complex subject I feel that by using a large number of illustrations, some animated, I have been able to explain how they work.
Hi Britt!- If I was doing Kid's clothing, I'd use the Kid's CR2 as a starting point, not a home grown one. You have to (well, actually you don't, but you should) remove all the unneeded parts and all the morphs, but that will get you a good base point, and all the zones would be in place, the way PhilC suggested. Sometimes the zones have to be modified, especially if the garment is loose enough so that parts are outside the zone where they should be inside, but it is far easier than going from scratch. Zones can be copied and pasted from one figure to another, incidently, right in Poser, while in the Joint Editor.

I'm still working on my conforming cloths to the P4 kids. Thanks to Scott, Nerd and Questor for helping me out! I had started to pull my hair out last night, - not figuring out the renaming bodypart problem. But, - when I'm conforming clothes to a figure, - and the figure's (P4 girl) in this case, and "Use spherical falloff zones" on one of the body parts (shoulder in this case), should I use the same for the conforming piece of clothing?? In my case, - the "falloff zones" seems to land on two different places. While the girl has two nice circles logically surrounding her shoulder, - my sweaters "zones" truely has "fallen off".... as a matter of fact, - straight to the floor! Uhm.... I guess that is NOT what the "falloff zones" REALLY means. Britt
