Subject: Moving the horse model in Poser 4.0

Hi, I just purchased Poser 4.0. I'm able to pose the human figures, but cannot pose the horse. When I try to get its legs to lift or to form them in a running position, they only twist in place or become distorted. Thanks for any help you can give me.

You have "Inverse Kinesmatics" on... Go to Figure, and "Inverse Kinesmatics", and uncheck whatever is checked. Or, you could always move the hoof instead of the horse itself.

Also since you are new here is a tip. When you are posing don't forget to use your dials as you will have a lot more control over the more finite movements. Welcome to the world of Poser. Marque

You need to turn off IK (inverse kinetics) for each leg. If you would like some premade horse poses - I have a whole bunch available for free downloading along with morphs and textures at http://www.pierianpiaffe.com

It's also worth noting for later, when you become more proficient that the IK's for the animals are wrong, you'll need later to adjust this in the hierarchy editor, shift the goals up to the wrists, works much better.

And if you ever need to know anything about the poser horse ask Daio or Bloodsong. They do great stuff with/for them. For anything about poses ask Schlabber. He has some horse and other animal poses on his site. That'll help you get the hang of posing things :) Hi guys! (waves)
