Yep. One of my favorite Anime characters and I am going to do her. Literally! Recreate is what I mean you perverts! I have not done much BESM outside of my sketch book so this is the 1st attempt at using Lightwave to create one. If anyone has not seen Iria, go buy or rent it. It is an excellent series.

cool looking character and armour , not crazy about the hair but i think it may look better as a 3d model !

Looks like a cool thing to model. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you have.

Do you have any links or more images of her. Her suit is neat, I would like to give it a shot. it would be nice to see her shoes too. This looks fun.

I own the first tape (yes, tape...it's an old form of magnetic...oh never mind) and I loved the character of her and that big thing she's always shown next to. I didn't really go for the epsiode so I didn't bother with the next. Maybe a Bublegum Crisis Hardsuit or two would be neat though...I should try it some day, I've never done mechs or mech like models before.

The mean Zeirum the reanimation. Yeah that thing was spooky. I first saw it back in 1996 and bought the entire series on one DVD. I love anime, even the hard-core stuff like Hentai. I think that the art is excellent, even the stories can get pretty corny but there is a freedom to it all that I rarely sense most western commercial art. Sometimes you'd be hard press to find a story that is more than some demon raping a bunch a chicks to achieve some greater meaning to existence however one must consider the culture that makes anime. Japanese people are very spirtual which definitely shows in their work such as Final Fantasy the spirits with-in. Here are her shoes.

i think modeling some of the characters from princes monoke would be cool that movie was awesome and im not even a n anime fan espicallly the empress chick with the red hat shed be cool to model got any pics

Hmm...there was an art of Princess Mononoke book. I'll see if I can track it down. 'Sides, I planned on using some of th edesigns for the buildings to get ideas for my Atrius project locales. Anime and Manga have always been a part of me and I love the freedom they have to express every little thought. Yeah, sometimes they overdo the sex stuff...but the stories can be very meanignful and tends to ask bigger questions than anything Hollywood spits out. The characters in Mononoke are cool but I'm a sucker for good character design. Like Blood: The Last Vampire, for example. The best Vampire flick I've seen in ages...too bad it was so short and the ending left you with a "that can't be it, I want more, where's the sequel" feel. Ooo...Vampires. That'd be neat. ANd not those hokey blah human looking ones either, but freakish, butt ugly vampires like in Blood. Gosh I wish my PC had a DVD so I could do screen grabs.

that sounds really cool. If you want I could make you orthographic drawings of her to help.. but then again, you can probably do that, if you haven't already started. I love Katsura-san's work too. whatever anyone says, I still think video girl is his best.

kat we love people that like to draw models set ups please do !

Tephladon ( ) posted Thu, 22 November 2001 at 3:42 AM

Sure and I'll post my sketches! .....as soon as I hook up this scanner. Ahhhh never mind. I have a wacom pad. I always forget about that thing and it is even hocked up. I'm so used to using pen and paper that I forget that I can do these things in photoshop.

Kuroi_Kenshi ( ) posted Thu, 22 November 2001 at 8:32 AM

I've been trying to reproduce her from the 3 pictures but I found some problem areas : 1)what does her gun holster look like, 2)Him guessing her right elbow pad is round from the drawings 3)how her hair is in the back. (i have a pretty good idea from memory though...) 4) what does her back look like? that's what's annoying. Animators must have gone crazy doing all this work! there's so much detail!

Tephladon ( ) posted Thu, 22 November 2001 at 8:33 AM

Okay. I'll post more in a few

Ugh... I just finished watching the series again and I would soo love to model this girl. - A nice radiosity rendering of her even without textures would be sooo fun.
