Hi all, Im at an national northeastern cheerleading meet with Chelsea this weekend, I am just getting a chance to hop on here, I gotta be out there again tomorrow with her all day. Wanted to say hello. Chelsea did not win either the all around or individual category, 1,2 or 3rd place, needless to say she walked off the floor sobbing....The damned sound guy put her tape in backwards.....It was a nightmare, Anyway, Tomorrow is exhibition, she is at a hotel tonight, I just wanted to bring her home, they tried so hard, this is the first year they did not place....There was this huge gap of silence in the middle of her cheer when the dance music did not start playing......it was sad. I will catch you all tomorrow evening, have a great rest of the weekend. Syyd

ahhhh, that sucks for her and for you. Sorry to hear it didn't go well. It's just a setback, just one meet, not the end, right? Sue

That is sad! Good she has Mom there to help. [Think of the poor sound guy who now has to live out the rest of his life knowing he traumatized a little girl!] We all grow up too soon.

Sound guys ALWAYS suck. I know this from gigs I've played. I've had my bass cut out in the middle of a song because the sound guy tripped over a wire... ugggh. We stopped right there, and the guitarist said (naughty language coming) "FIX THE FUCKING PROBLEM!" into the microphone, staring at the sound tech. I've had cassette decks and tapes stolen by the sound guy ("Where'd deck go?" - "I dunno.."walks away...). I've had my monitors not turned on, or picking up the wrong instrument, because of sound men. And worst of all, I've had sound men bitch at me because of MY sound. I'm sorry, but no asswitch is EVER allowed to tell me "Lower the eq in the higher frequencies, and put the midrange higher," ... EVER! during a show, if we play 8 songs, I'll change the settings on multiple pieces of equipment, sometimes quite drastically, between 2 and 4 times, and do minor adjustments during the actual songs sometimes. You don't tell me how I should sound, I KNOW how I should sound... I hate sound guys...
