Playing around with the Rapartz Painter nozzles and tutorials and the sketch renderer. The Rapartz stuff looks pretty cool. Does anyone have an opinion about which is better, Rapartz's foliage nozzles, or Gardenhose (Jungle3D)? -nemo

That looks great! I have Jungle Bundle but not the 3D vesion. What is Rapartz and where might one learn more about it? Thanks in advance. Larry F

Thanks! Rapartz sells Painter plant nozzles, kind of like Jungle. They're at www.rapartz.com . They have some great free tutorials and free nozzles, which is what I used to make this picture. I'm trying to decide whether to buy the Rapartz bundle of plant nozzles, or the Jungle3D ones. I've heard more about Gardenhose, but I really like the non-photoreal look of the Rapartz ones. -nemo

Yes, thank you! I did a search on Google for Rapartz and just finished reading about it/them. But what they mentioned wsa Photo Impact by Ulead. I have a version of Painter that came with Poser 4 (I think) but I'm mostly a Paint Shop Pro type, though my wife has said she would buy me Photoshop for my birthday (she loves me). Would these nodules work in Painter? And, yes, I like the look of them too. Thanks for sharing that, BTW. Acts like that add to the credence of this place. Larry F (off to rapartz.com)

If you go to www.rapartz.com and look at the Volume I, Volume II, Volume III listings in the menu sidebar, those are the three CDs of nozzles they offer for sale. They offer them in a choice of three formats; nozzles for Painter, tubes for Paint Shop Pro and PhotoImpact, and image lists for Photo-Paint. The nozzle versions might work in your Painter, depending on how old it is (I think versions of Painter before 5 might not have supported image nozzles.) Or you could get the tubes version for Paint Shop Pro instead since you're already comfortable with that application. Unfortunately, none of the versions work in Photoshop (I'm more of a Photoshop person myself... I'm just learning Painter.) -nemo

I had the great fortune to befriend Richard of rapartz.com and I have to say he's a wonderful person and a great business man... Whatever questions you may have, write him!... He is very helpful... I also had the great fortune of beta testing all his nozzles and I can't tell you how wonderful they are... Even though I got them ALL for free, I would of bought each and everyone in time if I had to... This isn't a sales pitch and I'm not getting paid to say any of this.. In fact I had to direct Richard to Renderosity, since he had no info about the site.. I'm not sure if he ever visited us but he was looking for someone to beta test nozzles for Bryce, and since I don't own a copy of Bryce I wasn't able to help him in that area... I do know he makes nozzles for the most popular painting programs out there.. Painter 7 being the main one.. In fact he did all the nozzles that come with Painter in the last few releases of the software... ~Cindy

Cindy, No problem. Point taken. Think I'm gonna grab a couple of those tubes but have to wait until after New Year's. And thanks! Larry F
