This sword is a prop for a new critter I'm currently working on - a balrog! Complete with transmapped flames, etc! Now, my question... does this look okay for the flames? There is absolutely no post work on these images. They are straight Poser Renders to test the transmapped flames on the sword.

Remember, kids! Napalm is Nature's Toothpaste!

I like this, Very nice you might want to make the blade yellow like it is glowing from being very hot.

Flames do look nice from both sides. Is there a morph so you can control their directional angle when your critter 'swings' his blade? And I do agree with Hairy, a better color for the blade would enhance the flames greatly...

lovely flame effect well done! er- thing is though the balrog's weapon was a whip, just a personal opinion, but it would be better if the whip was entirely made of fire and shadow, nothing solid inside it The sword is a beaut, but it doesn't look like a baddies sword, it looks kind of noble and elegant. If you want a demon to have a sword I think it might look a bit meaner and nastier somehow peejay

Considering Balrogs were fire spirits perverted by Melkor (Morgoth), who can have the appearance they want, surrounded by flames and shadows, i cannot wait to see this balrog.... Are you sure that the Whip was made of fire ??????? Wings or not wings ? ;-) The sword is very nice, as said before the ambiant color of the blade must be yellow/orange. i may add, you will face the concurrence of WETA's one from The Fellowship of the Ring ;-)) !!!

Actually the Balrog had a whip and a sword :) the sword was more red than yello since it is described as red hot. The whip isn't burning though it does hiss so that could be burning. It doesn't actually say it burns. Anyway. Nice work and can't wait to see the Balrog. Wish i could actually make one.

That sword is absolutely wonderful looking. I know nothing of Balrogs, but that is one fantastic sword.
