Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 1:43 pm)
Hi! I Had that problem, too. With me it was my "asifont.fon" file getting overwritten or replaced in my Poser4 directory. It's an Adobe(?) font, rather than TrueType... Try Deleting the Adobe fonts (both in Poser4 and your Windows Font Directory) In my case, It happened whenever I tried installing Bryce. If you don't want to risk losing the fonts themselves, try just changing the extensions or moving them to a different folder. If it doesn't work, you can always restore them and ask for further information from one of the experts! Good Luck! Starlok
its a windows thing-What i did was set up a system font folder with ONLY the fonts windows needs to run the system- arial, anything that begins with ms, lucida console, courier new, times new roman, wingdings. All other fonts were then moved to an auxilery font folder, where i can acess them by turning them on and off by using adobe's type manager. this solved the problem for me. Restoring to factory state does not fix this issue.
I had this problem ones and i think i remember how i fixed it. I have a Norwegian Windows so i can't give you the exact names but this is approximately what you have to do. Right click on an empty space on the windows desktop and select the lowest option in the drop down menu, click on the 'header menus' till you have a screen with an image of different menus and boxes (3. from the left on my Windows). Click on the text you want to change the font for and select a new font. Then click on the apply button and you are done.
I only got brave with fonts once. I followed some tip about how to cut down on the fonts installed on my computer. In the end, none of the fonts seemed to work right after that. I think I just ended up reinstalling Windows 98 (or whatever version I had), then reinstalling different software packages until I got the fonts back. In the end, I am careful when installing programs. I chose the minimal font install, whatever is default. I don't select extra fonts, etc.

I have a problem, one day my default font just changed to some weird font that's hard to read. I think it happened when i had to reset my registry on my hard drive, but i'm not sure. Any 1 know how to change the Poser 4 default font? Hmm maybe reinstalling would work, but i really would like to be able to do it without doing that, so if it happens again, I can fix it quickly.
