I was just browsing around at Daz and saw their new Staff Pak, looks pretty spiffy! I might just have to get it! Anyone buy it yet? If so, what d'you think?

Anzan ( ) posted Tue, 18 December 2001 at 11:01 PM

Looks nice.. but Im saving my money for when GhostofMacbeth posts his orc there. WOW! But that staff pack is definaely on the short list.

Cin- ( ) posted Tue, 18 December 2001 at 11:07 PM

Oh I know that Orc looks GREAT from what I've seen so far.

Buddha32 ( ) posted Wed, 19 December 2001 at 12:37 AM

Yeah, I'm thinking of getting an early Xmas gift for myself.

scifiguy ( ) posted Wed, 19 December 2001 at 3:56 AM

You sure get a lot for the price...very flexible. I'm not sure I can stand any more Poser spending though...between Christmas and Poser my Visa has scorch marks on it!

Larry F ( ) posted Wed, 19 December 2001 at 4:19 AM

Amen to that, scifiguy! Mine is still smoking!

Crescent ( ) posted Wed, 19 December 2001 at 9:51 AM

I'm going to pick it up soon. I have a nice veneer on my desk from where the Visa melted on it. ;-)

Buddha32 ( ) posted Wed, 19 December 2001 at 9:51 AM

My issue is drive space. I upgraded and slapped in a new 40GB drive, on top of the 20 that came with my 'puter...and it's getin' full already - mostly because of Poser! Guess I know what I want for Christmas.. another new HD!

ronknights ( ) posted Wed, 19 December 2001 at 11:05 AM

Buddha32: Is all that stuff taken up from stuff you're actually using, or are you also storing the original files for downloads and such? I know I'd be lost without my CD Burner. I save stuff on the hard drive for awhile, then I get enough for CD's of different topics, such as clothes, characters, etc. Then I make the cd's and take the stuff off the hard drive. Of course, my 20GB hard drive has programs and operating system... that is fast getting full because of all the installed Poser stuff.

Buddha32 ( ) posted Wed, 19 December 2001 at 12:13 PM

That's the installed files. I also keep the installer proggies only a short while and then burn them to CDRs.

Buddha32 ( ) posted Wed, 19 December 2001 at 12:15 PM

~L~ I just realized it sounds like I have close to 40 GB of Poser stuff ~L~ Obviously I have other stuff too, but I would have to say that the majority of my HD is stuff that Shanpoo and I bought at 'Rosity and DAZ... not to mention the oodles of Freestuff. Then if you count our artwork and the nemerous projects I'm always developing or leaving midstream... well that's a lot of Poser related space!

Strangechilde ( ) posted Wed, 19 December 2001 at 12:17 PM

How about my 4GB harddisk? I'd be lost without my 20GB external!

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Wed, 19 December 2001 at 4:15 PM

Blushes a little Thanks guys . And it should be up for sale this Friday I am thinking.

Anzan ( ) posted Wed, 19 December 2001 at 4:28 PM

:does a little dance:

Anzan ( ) posted Wed, 19 December 2001 at 5:31 PM

I noticed the outfit he did (textures for changing fantasy suit) aren't included - are they to be sold seperately or put in freestuff? Anz

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Thu, 20 December 2001 at 2:26 AM

Sold seperately Anzan .. they should be up soon. The download woulda been huge and the price woulda gone up but they should be pretty inexpensive and up soon as well. I also wanted to make them availble for people that didn't want the orc. They were finishing with them today I think. Saw the movie twice today Grins

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Thu, 20 December 2001 at 2:31 AM

I do plan on putting up some freebies and all though. Have to get back from the Holidays and all and actually update my website LOL

Anzan ( ) posted Thu, 20 December 2001 at 2:41 AM

Yeah.... me too :grins: Saw it once last night at midnight and once this morning.. I was blown away. And I've been playing with your orc and I didn't realize the face morphs were there... Everyone - You can make it look like just about every goblin and orc in that movie. Thats good they'll be up :Grins: I was almost as excited about them as I was the figure itself. I've been looking for a texture that was more... earthy than most available. Thanks Ghost Anz

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Thu, 20 December 2001 at 2:54 AM

Yeah .. I couldn't do the midnight last night but saw the noon and 7. Plan on a few more tiems between now and new years at least. And yep .. the morphs are there. tried to get a good variety and you can mix them up to make a lot more. Welcome and thank you. They should be up soon I hope S And much more earthy. They work for humans too.

azl ( ) posted Thu, 20 December 2001 at 9:47 AM

Has anyone actually bought the staff pack:

  • How easy is it to change the parts? Is there a morph dial to change the parts, or do you have to manually line up the bases, tops, and extension stubbs?
  • Are there MAT files for the 34 "mixable, matchable" maps, or do you have to apply those manually?

Thanks.

Hey GoM, it does look good. I like your comment about 'but the download would've been huge' , 20 meg is still huge for dial-up :)
