Subject: Question on Library files...

Ok. I know geometry files have to be in the SPECIFIC folder it asks for... but what about library files? Can I move them around to other folders? My library files are getting so convoluted that finding what I am looking for is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Especially my pose files. I would like to reorganize them in a way that makes sense to me. Example: Put the zygote animals and daz animals into ONE file called animals... Can I put the files (without changing specific .rsr .cr2, etc. names) into any file name I want?? Don't want to screw anything up, so thought I should check first. TIA. Pat

Sometimes character makers do this really irritating thing of putting the geometry in the same folder as the cr2, so you can't delete that folder, but other than that your characters can be in any subfolder of the character folder, poses can be in any subfolder of the pose folder etc. You can't have subfolders inside subfolders. Within those rules, go for your life. I strongly recommend you take a look at Yarp's P3DO explorer in the free stuff. (Make sure you get the latest version). It makes organising your Poser stuff a lot easier.

yes, you can easily move around your .cr2 files, and you can move the .obj files as long as you edit the .cr2 (but why bother, unless it is in the library section)

Just be careful about moving your texture folders -- if you do move these folders, your figures and props won't be able to find them. You'll then need to point to the location of the new texture folder.s

I find that as long as the textures stay somewhere in the textures folder, Poser always finds them. However it can take quite a while for Poser to search the whole textures folder if the cr2/pp2 internal references aren't right.
