Subject: I Need Birds!

Anyone know where I can find some regular, boring bird models? Sparrows, wrens, etc., especially pigeons. Preferably poseable models with textures, but I'll take what I can get. Free would be great, but I wouldn't mind paying for something nice. All I've seen are eagles and cardinals and stuff, but I'm looking for really common birds for town and city scenes. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You can get an expansion pack for the DAZ eagle, which changes the eagle to various different birds. Check it out at Daz.

DAZ's songbirds are the closest thing that I can think of to birds that you would find in a city. I am interested in pigeons, too, but I haven't been able to find any. Jay

Hmm. Man, I really need a pigeon. I may have to try to make one myself, but I'm not sure I'm that skilled in modeling yet. I guess I'll have to take a stab at it (and keep searching in the meantime...).

Do a search in Free Stuff for "bird"... There is one in there called "pose bird". I have not tried it yet however. Cheers,

The eagle expansion pak makes the eagle into a bunch of different raptors - not regular birds. Although it is loaded with morphs, so you might be able to get to a pigeon from there. I'd try the DAZ songbird myself, it looks like it can be morphed for most common seed/insect eating temparate zone birds. (sparrows, finches, etc) And of course Emperor Ken made a bunch of good birds - bluejay, cardinal and some I don't know. Also a good base to start from. :) And just for completeness, Bloodsong made a swan which is at her site. This summer as I was walking down the street in Queens, NYC I saw a large flock of birds flying between two trees. Back and forth, back and forth. When I got closer I saw that in the middle of all these small dark city birds was one bright blue budgie. He looked quite at home flying with the flock, and they seemed not to notice he was bright blue. Hope the lil guy made it through the winter :) Good luck! Lyrra

Eagle, Dove, Swan and Bat. Just check the link and see under the Free-Models Section and then Animals. There's a ton of cool and well modelled animals. SHARKEY
