Subject: Best way to edit fall-off-zones?

I'm working on conforming some clothes to Posette, - and I get into the same problem as with the P4 kids... When I edit the new conforming piece of cloths fall-off-zones, - it seems that THE only way to do that is via the editing tools, scale, rotate, move. In the manual it says you "CAN" use the editing tools, - but is there any other, more accurate and efficient way to do this?? Thanks! Britt

When I do mine I only ever use the dials. Is that what you were asking?

No, I don't use the dials, I use the editing tools, - "scale", "twist", "rotate". It makes it easy to position or move the circles that represent the fall-off-zones. But it isn't a very accurate way. I don't seem to find where the exact figures for them are. I've done a search in the cr2 files for zones... when I search for "zone" it finds "smoothZones". I suspect they are not the same as the fall-off-zones, - are they?? Britt

heyas; when you turn on the spherical falloff zones for the joint you are editing, two new entries appear at the top of the figure body part list (above the hip): innermatsphere and outermatsphere. you can grab them there, and they will have dials, just like a body part (or prop). you should also be able to click on them and select them. the translate tool works on them, but i wouldn't mess with the rotation or other tools, i use the dials for that. when you grab them, look at the title over the dials of the body part you are working on. you'll see you have the sphere, not the body part. (unless you have the titles turned off... i think ctrl+ and/or ctrl- toggle those).

slapping my forehead bloodsong! It didn't even occur to me to look at the dials! hoping nobody notices how hard I'm banging my head on the keyboard Oh, man! Do I feel stoopid!! However! I couldn't find any "little boxes" to write values in! But oh... my. Did you make my world a LOT simpler! lol I couldn't for the LIFE of me understand what the manual meant! Because it said "the editing tools". And when you check out that definition you are shown the little buttons over your image.... Oh.... Oh... man... Thanks! Britt

heyas; not sure which little boxes you need. the joint editor window has some little boxes for typing in the center and junk. for the dials, you double click those to get numeric input. actually, you can double click the number above the dial to just get a little box to type in. but i always use the big one with all the inputs.
