Hi,

I wanted to know if someone can help, I just upgraded to XP home, now when I try to export .obj out of Poser 4 pro pack, I cannot select export object with names for each body part, when I try to place a check in the export menue it won't work, so when I import the object into Bryce 5 I have only 1 object and it cannot map each body part sepreratly,....Help please...

Sorry, I can't help you.
I have XP Home and Pro Pack, but for me the export with names for body parts works.
Maybe it is something else?

I had some trouble with certain models, but someone pointed out a neat utility that sorts things out to bring them into Bryce with most of the textures in tact. It's called Grouper, and you can get it here - http://www.castironflamingo.com/tutorial/grouper/index.html I still have to go in and manually assign some of the textures, bumps and transparencies, but the parts are all very easy to select now. Some of the models still have problems even after running them through Grouper, and passing them through the UV Mapper utility usually fixes them. You can get that one here - http://www.uvmapper.com/ Most of the time, and combination of the two works fine, but I still have some occasional geometry that's stubborn. Hope these help! -Tempus

Let Poser' export dialog box open. Open another application (Workpad, Acdsee or whatever...) Click on Poser' export dialog box title bar (to get it in foreground) Now you can access all the options. You can let the other app in background. Actually, you can go to any other open window, then back to Poser and the function works. If no other window is already open, displaying the clock will work, also. Hope it helps.

VueMaster will greatly simplify importing, by fixing the Poser MTL, placing copies of all needed files in one place, greyscaling BUM maps, flipping and inverting trans maps as needed. For P3, it will create a MTL for you (P3 doesn't make one on export). Especially useful for multiple character scenes with lots of textures.
