THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: problems installing bryce 5

I installed bryce 5, but I still had bryce 4 on my computer so I decided to uninstall it. That also sort of uninstalled Bryce 5, but not really. It deleted the actual program, uninstall program, etc., but my computer still thinks it's installed, which messes it up whenever I try to reinstall it but I can't uninstall it because the uninstall program got removed and using someone else's doesn't work. I hope that makes sense.... Has anyone else had that problem and knows how to fix it? Please? Anyone?

I guess you tried uninstalling it using add/remove programs in control panel. Another option is to delete the Bryce 5 folder in Program files, but this could be dangerous because there may be some shared files with other programs in there. If you have the Bryce 5 upgrade you will need to install Bryce 4 for the upgrade to work. Try installing B4 then the B5 upgrade. Coral may be able to give you a SS# that will by pass the upgrade from B4 to B5

One option is to remove bryce from the registry. The program is called regedit.exe(comes with Windows) but if you don't know what you're doing, you might make things even worse.

i believe, from the little that i understood that when u uninstalled bryce four, some shared file with five were uninstalled together.... so, based on this, windows still thinks that u have bryce 4 installed right? deal is sometimes win don't recoganize versions.... I'd try to del the bryce folder, there shouldn't be any prob with shared files since corel place them somewhere else... and then reboot and try to install again. if u r using win me,2000,xp it might be wise to try the system restore, it usually does a good job... if not perhaps reintalling 4 and then uninstalling then installing 5.... if nothing works do what bill gates use to do back when he was begining (and where windows got it's name from) .... trow the comp out the WINDOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just my two cents
