THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Is the Patch officially out????????

I remember reading a thread a while ago about the patch for Bryce 5. I tried the FTP addresses given and couldn't get connected to anything. Are they out yet? If not, does anyone know when we'll get a patch? I sure could use a patch to fix some major glitches in Bryce 5. Just wondering!

There was a patch there for awhile, I heard Coral pulled it. Maybe it was premature or for beta or something. I heard a few people ( who got it before they pulled it ) say it fixed a few problems, not sure which ones. Looked at there regular patch page today, nothing there for 5 only the old one for 4. Did anybody else get it, maybe give a little info on it.

Problems? So far, I haven't really seen any problems in Bryce 5. What should I be looking for? Melanie

You can ftp the 5.01 patch from ftp://ftp.corel.com/pub/Bryce/5.0.1 Last time I checked, it was still not shown on Corel's website as an update. It lists a few of the fixes. One thing that's not mentioned in the patch, but is fixed, is the problem with the cloud frequency/amplitude graph. Previously if you clicked and drag, the settings jumped to some off-the-wall value instead of starting at the current setting. This made that method pretty much unusable. Also it mentions fixing the tree lab instability. I didn't even mess with it pre-patch, it tended to freeze a lot. If you do network rendering, be sure to grab the lightning update as well, the previous client won't work.
