Hi shadownet that's gorgeous! Do you think the feet could be even bigger? I'm no good at textures either, but surely if the model is Michael, and you haven't edited the mesh, then any existing Michael textures would still be UV mapped to him? Not ideal I know, but something to be going on with? Similarly for clothes, there are some neat medieval type costumes for Michael around that ought to squash or stretch into place maybe? Lovely figure. Well done you.
Thanks for the feedback. I hope to upload the figure to free stuff later this evening. It will be in Cr2 form as that is the quick and easy way for me to do it. Any texture for Michael will work, but until someone makes one with furry feet it just will not be very hobbity. :o)
Clothing is a real problem as the resizing/rescaling does not transfer over well to clothing items. I have been able to make some items fit, but does take a bit of work and is really only best suited for still work as the joints tend to break up etc. if you try too many different poses. Maybe someone who is good at making clothing will make an outfit or two that will fit him. Hair-wise, I have been using the P4 man curly hair but I know that someone can come up with a better hair option for him that that.
Chohole,I don't have the Mil Boys so I can't answer your question. The first version I tried was with the Poser Dork but I did not like the results so I went to Michael. I think I saw a thread elsewhere though where someone is working on a Frodo-figure based on the P4. I might be wrong about that though, so don't hold me to it. If I get a chance, I will go back to the P4 version I started and see if I can make it work.
:o)
Had not thought about trying the socks. Sounds like a clever idea. I made a furryfoot prop (er, hair for the foot) smart prop and have included it with my download file. I just posted it to Free Stuff. Working on a picture now using my Hobbit and the Halfling Village by Judith and Chris. Sort of forcing the textures, clothing and hair, to work but would really love to see items made up just for the Hobbit instead of my hack jobs. :o) Happy New Years!
