Hi everybody, first of all a Happy New Year to the whole community. May all your whishes come true. :))) Does anybody know something about the release date for the Mac version of Vue 4? I just browsed the MacWorldExpo website and found e-on software at the exhibitor's list... Just guessing... cause I can't wait to get my hands on Vue d'Esprit... Cheers, Phil

All I know is they said soon. When you do get it you will love it. Sharen

Sharen, I definately will love it... I've seen some many great pictures made with this wonderful program. That's why I'm as impatient as a kid waiting for Santa ;o)

Howdy all, e-on software is going to have a booth at MacWorld Expo (booth #2531). Nicholas Phelps (e-on's president), Cecile Laurens (e-on Europe's business development person) and I (e-on USA business development person) will all be there. Come by and take a look :-) Best regards, Lynn Fredricks e-on software US Business Unit

I hope there's a demo - I really want to try this program out! - n8

Well, it does say that it will come out during the MacWorld show. e-on software Booth Number:2531 e-on software creates and publishes award-winning 3D solutions. Vue d'Esprit 4 is a native OS X application that exemplifies ease of use and power, allowing every computer artist to easily create breath-taking, 3D natural scenery and animation. Vue d'Esprit 4 for OS X will appear at this show. -- The question is, when will I be able to download that demo? With all the interesting things coming up at MWSF, maybe I should be working this week and taking next week off :-). - n8

Nate, my guess would be that the demo will be released about a month or two after the software. I repeat, that's aonly a guess. :)

Is that what happened in the case of the PC demo? It looks like it is possible to order the Mac OS X version from their web site already, though that may be a pre-order thing. Maybe I'll borrow someone's PC to try the demo. The only other things that concern me are the performance and stability on OS X - being their first version for Mac. I've been impressed with all the reviews I've read so far, but I would be more comfortable after seeing a review of the Mac version on a site like creativemac or similar. Nathan.

I'll be going to the Macworld expo, even though I don't have a Mac. I'll take notes and I'll take my digital cam and I'll report back. :) Kate (who can throw rocks at SF from her kitchen and almost hit it)

Hi Kate, I just recently stumbled across the Big-i forums - and your message there. So I'll be looking here or their for your full report. :) I guess Lynn and the MacWorld page never -really- said they'd be shipping the product - only that they will have something to show at the Expo. I hope they are ready to ship... can't wait. Re: "There will be special show pricing and giveaways, so you won't want to miss this event!" If you happen to win an OS X copy of Vue, I'll be glad to take it off your hands :). Of course with Apple's big announcements, who knows... you might end up wanting a Mac yourself.... Anyway, I'm off to play around with the demo some more on my brother's PC... - n8

If I score an OS X copy of Vue, you KNOW it's going to the highest bidder, right? grin, wink Of course, if you talk to me really nicely I might give ya this still in the shrink wrap Mac version of "Frankenstein: Through the eyes of the Monster" that some well intentioned but computer illiterate relative gave me for Christmas many years ago. more grinning and winking Ok, all kidding aside, I'm looking forward to attending this thing. I've always been curious about Macs and don't know anybody who has one, so this will be an educational experience for me. And I'll most likely post something in both places, but since I'm a mod over at the Big-i they get first dibs :) Kate (making sure she packs enough blank floppies for the digicam - don't wanna run out of "film")

Kate, just a hint from a Mac geek... Leave your credit card at home. Macs can be definately addictive! I know what I'm talking about. I started my computer carrer with a PC, but switched to Mac during university. And I'll never go back if I have to. And after the release of Mac OSX it's have been getting even worse. I really look forward to your report. Phil aka TheWingedOne (Who'd like to go to SF, too. But has to stay in Germany, cause he's gotta go to work to earn some bucks to get Vue 4 for his Mac. lol)

That's probably a good idea. I still haven't quite paid off my iBook, and it's been very tempting to buy an iPod and an AirPort 2.0 base station. Damn VISA company keeps upping my limit too. :) - n8

KateTheShrew ( ) posted Sun, 06 January 2002 at 12:09 PM

hehe, don't ya just hate when they raise your limit? Or, in the case of my discover card, they sent me a whole nuther card with a much higher limit so now I have TWO ways to get myself in trouble. :)

Heh. I thought I should atleast wait for MWSF before buying anymore Apple goodies. I know I'll get an iPod eventually - to replace my Rio 500 and free up some disk space on my iBook's poor little 10GB drive. I don't even think the price is unreasonable - my Rio 500 wasn't much less when I bought it 2 years ago. And we are talking 5GBs here - my entire collection is only 3.5GB. I was in the store with all this credit, and it was very tempting :). But I hope to get my VISA paid down first, hopefully this spring I'll get one. But it's pretty tempting, even now - to run out to the store and buy one. Esp. when I only have 120MB free on my HDD. If only I had waited a bit - the iBooks now ship with nice 15-20 GB drives. :) - n8
