Subject: Render a wireframe...ehhh....

Skygirl ( ) posted Thu, 03 January 2002 at 4:16 PM · edited Thu, 14 November 2024 at 9:30 PM

I mean: can I render a pic in Bryce 4 as a wireframe-pic...with only the lines and not the textures and lights and all that ? Or do I simply have to grab a screen shot ? Can I render just some parts of a pic as wireframe-pic ? Sky...confused, confused, confused :-)

Set-up to render a 1 or 2 frame animation ( File/animation set-up ) Make sure the window is in Wireframe Mode, then hold the Shift+Ctrl+Alt ( you may need to only hold the Shift key, on my computer I have to hold all three ) While holding the keys click the render button, the render animation menu should pop up. in the output option select BMP Sequence, and set a location to save the images ( Set File Location option). Then exit the menu holding the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys Should then render a 2 frame BMP sequence in wireframe, and save it to the set location.

Oh thanks a lot everyone. Now I certainly have something to try out. Thanks. Sky :-)

hahaha. i know what you got in mind! its very popular nowadays in computer 3D to put part of a wireframe on an object, isn't it? miker

Skygirl ( ) posted Fri, 04 January 2002 at 10:12 AM

Maybe zspider...but it sure looks good doesnt it ? He, lil Sky would like to try :-)

zspider ( ) posted Fri, 04 January 2002 at 11:04 AM

hi skygirl, yes it does! most of the ones i've seen are showing only a partial mesh superimposed over the object. i'm glad you asked, cuz i didn't know how it was done either. be sure and post when you get something you like! good luck, zspider

Thanks and good luck to you too, zspider :-)

I think there are some tuts for that effect around here somewhere. do a search for the mobius effect... I think thats what they call it.

Skygirl ( ) posted Fri, 04 January 2002 at 4:11 PM

Thanks Wadus :-) Just found the Mobius tut...it looks great...but also a bit difficult. Well, nobody said it would be easy, sooooo I better try it :-)

Glad you found the Mobius tut, I was just thinking of that as I read this thread. Good luck and have fun.

Hi Stephen, I tried the method above. I couldn't get it to render bitmaps as wireframes. All my Bryce preview windows were set for wireframe, but I got my three frames as bitmaps rendered solid fill for some reason.

You have to have the file/render animation menu up, then hold the shift key as you click the check to exit. Should work with Bryce 4 and 5,

It worked for me and my Bryce 4...although I nearly broke a couple of fingers on my left hand :-) Sky.

I got it to work lame o me, I really did have to click out holding the keys down LOL
