I just watched The Truman Show for the first time this week (on BBC) and I've seen it a couple of times since....it helped me remember Philip Glass' music, which is soooo awesome for movies. Wow, after seeing those two amazing movies (I know it's a trilogy, but Pow & Koya are my favs) in the 80's, and that famous theme fits the Truman movie very well.....I guess some times are not restricted to time :) Anyway, no movie discussion, just dwelling on some memories here ;) I know this may sound really silly, but it sort of inspired me to look at some old shots, to see if I can use 'em again with some postwork...in whatever way to create something new. So here we go ;)

The original....hehe....just a silly first try (or second, cause I did one before last week) I've cloned away a few people, and the crane above the building.

When I see the first image it says to me a big storm it about to let go. That errie light, just before everything goes dark and wet. The post work has really worked over the mood from the original....I believe that this type of exercise has the effect of educating the mind to see possibles and have an idea of how to achieve them.

You really did create something good out of this, very dark & moody, nice mono effect & the building looks really imposing when it didn't stand out at all in the original.

Yes very moody! Looks perfect for some home made horror movie scenes. Phillip Glass eh. I like environmental music a little but he is just too much for me. Truthfully how is the "Music for Airports" ablum? You did quite a bit of work on this pict too. ALOT of cloning! Bsteph

...huh, damn good job. This is what I adore. When one can see something special in "normal" pic like that before-pic there, dig it out with photoshop and show it to the world. That's like from another different world, bit scary, but hella intresting place. Those black figures and white fences really works. I'm gonna quote Alpha here, hopefully you work with big resloutions, in some beautiful day, you might want to print this. .n

lol, yeah...tif's of around 30mb ;) Antoonio - yeah, know what you mean.....but you're far, far better at these things....your stuff always blows me away =) Bsteph - Well, I mostly like his film music...to go along with the images...his other stuff is good too, but I think he's made for film music for some reason :) Airports is pretty good, well, if you like his stuff....nice tunes for when you're working those long and late nights, but not like when you'r having a party ;) His truman show stuff is the best I've heard of him in ages though...wow. Anyway, thanks for all the feedback :)

Thanks :) Yeah, it amazes me everytime that Photoshop doesn't have a lot of restrictions that limit what you can achieve.....

  1. I can't say it better than Billglaw: "..educating the mind to see possibilties.." Your stuff always educates my mind, Rork. 2) Antoonio talked about the resolution of the original scan, and PRINTING our work: one of these days I'm gonna post a new thread on this subject. If some of the stuff I've been seeing here isn't getting printed and mounted, I'll cry! 3) Think you should have left in the running man at the far right? I like that image. Man -- that is perfect cloning!
