I am a newbie to the bryce world. I have been using 3ds max for the last 6 months. I never seem to think user manuals are that great so I went out and bought a book on bryce. I wanted to get some reviews on it before i crack it open (1,000) pages long. Has anyone read this one yet. I would love some reader reviews, if it isn't that great reccomend one different so I can take it back. Thanks in advance.

Hi JHILL! Another newbie here as well. I recently bought this book (on a recommendation from one of the friendly mods here ;-)...), and am very glad I did. Although I also have the manual for B5, I just didn't find that it explained things as well - maybe it will as I gain experience? The Real World Bryce 4 book, IMHO, does explain things very well & there's also a CD inside the back cover that you can use to further understand and test out what's being covered in the chapters. I'm slowly working my way through this book, so can't say for sure how different it will be in relation to B5. All I've noticed so far (in the way of differences) is that some of the keyboard shortcuts don't work in B5. Other than that, you can usually figure out how to adjust for working in B5. But overall, I am very glad that I did make the investment and purchase this book. I hope this helps & have fun with your rendering! ;-)

hi jhill, i just ordered kitchen's real world bryce. i'm a newbie. well, not even a newbie yet... my copy of bryce5 is still in the mail. but there seems to be consensus that the kitchens book is the bible. i looked it over at border's bookstore and it looked good. i ordered online though, because it was a lot cheaper. good luck, miker

Yes Jill, like others said, you bought a very good book. I have another book from the same person and it's Bryce 2, very good. The one you have is the lastest from her with somebody else (i just don't remember the name). you can learn alot from her book. Pleiades

The other credited author on "Real World Bryce 4" is Victor Gavenda. ;-)

....and Eric, I can only dream of going to Bryce camp as it's a tad out of my price range, not to mention present rendering skills, lol!
