to buy stuff and have to edit the files first to make them useable.

Please remember if you include MAT-files in your package or if you finish your cr2

  • Don,t use "C:program filesMetacreation... " for pointing to your texture. If you make MATs use the form ":runtime:textures:yourfolder:yourfile.jpg"

  • if you use a silver.pict please include the silver.pict The reflectionmap on PC is silver.jpg

  • Not everyone use a "c:kopie van runtime.." folder

  • Search for Betatester to check your files first!

Thank you
Robert

Yes thank you for repointing that out. When those are fixed they make for a much more user friendly install of your products....I'd rather not have to go find a few files in some strange directories like "c:kopie van runtime"

I second that to include cr2 files that call for tif files when you provided jpgs in the download.

Another is Bump maps that are supplied as JPG, but referred to in the CR2's as .BUM. ProPack won't convert them, so it's dive into the text editor time again. - Mark

Also, many zip files contain weird folders with odd names before Runtime, which inserts a folder where you don't want one. I always have to end up going into Windows Explorer and manually moving the files out of the extra folder and deleting it. Please use a standard path if you save the path for "easy installing" of files. Make sure there are no odd folders included, especially before Runtime. This just makes extra work getting things where they belong. Thanks, Melanie

Wow, that's bad. The Store started requiring much more care in the preparation of downloadable products last year, and it was a big step forward, but i doubt it was retroactive. i, too, have had to make corrections in older items. It's not a bad idea for folks who make freestuffs to look at those requirements, too. They are very comprehensive. Now, i just use the same procedure for both sale & free item preparation.

We do have submission guidelines that are noted above. However, some of the older products may not have been updated. If you find ways to make products easier to use that are not included in our submission guidelines we are always willing to re-evaluate our process. thanks, yvette
